to the Premiership?
Looks like.
Skysports.com understands that Hull City have agreed a deal with Espanyol for full-back Steve Finnan.
Finnan, 32, only joined the Primera outfit in the summer from Liverpool but saw his time in Spain disrupted by a series of niggling injuries.
In total he was only able to make four appearances for the struggling Catalans who find themselves in the relegation places in La Liga.
Tottenham and Newcastle were amongst the teams interested in taking the former Republic of Ireland international back to The Premier League, but Hull have moved quickly to put a deal in place.
Having agreed a fee of €1.5million (£1.35million) with Espanyol, the Tigers are now scheduled to meet Finnan on Thursday with a two-and-a-half year contract on the table.
Provided Finnan agrees personal terms and comes through a medical, the transfer is expected to go through later on Thursday.
Finnan would become Hull's second capture of the transfer window following the signing of Kevin Kilbane from Wigan.
