Will the Setanta curse strike us though?
Anyway I'm really looking forward to this! It will be a tough game no doubt. They will be full of confidence after beating United and most of their players are well rested after this International break. I'm hoping to see more of our great attacking football from the first whistle, but we cannot afford to be too relaxed at the back. United concedeing early had them on the back foot for the rest of the game, we can't afford to do this. Hopefully we can push them right back and deliver the killing strike early like we did against Villa.
As far as I know Mascherano will miss this one. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Argentina squad get back on Friday afternoon, and our match is of course on Saturday. He will be too tired to travel to London and play another 90 mins. This means Lucas steps in. Hopefully he will take confidence from hearing his name being sung and will bring his form from the United game in.
I'm going to go for a 2-0 win. Kuyt and Gerrard.
