 A Liverpool XI will visit Cambridge United on Tuesday, July 28. 
The match at the The R Costings Abbey Stadium, will kick-off at 7.45pm BST.
 
Liverpool XI pre-season friendlies:
 
Saturday, July 18. Aberystwyth Town. 3pm.
 
Tuesday, July 28. Cambridge United. 7.45pm.
 
Friday, July 31. Notts County. 7.45pm.
 
Monday, August 3. Bristol Rovers. 7.30pm.

Was always wondering. Is this Liverpool XI the full team? I really dont so considering the fact they'll only be flying back from Singapore on the 27th. Then without sufficient rest are they going to play again 1 day later?

Not forgetting the August 2 friendly against Espanyol, then one day later its against Bristol Rovers?

Liverpool XI would be Liverpool 11 and I'd say it would be highly likely that the majority of the team will be reserves.

Know that XI stands for 11, but always didnt know hwo they could cram a couple of fixtures in a few days. I suppose its majority of the academy players getting a run out etc.

I'm sure you will.  Most of the staff's carers are on their holidays as well so I'd imagine a fair few of them will be there.

LIVERPOOL XI TO FACE TRANMERE

The match at Prenton Park will take place on Friday, July 24, at 7.45pm BST.
 
We will be receiving an initial allocation of 500 tickets for this fixture priced as follows:
 
Adults - £12. Seniors (60 and over) - £6. Young persons (aged 17 to 22) - £6. Juniors (under-16) - £4.
 
Kop hero Barnes said: "This will be a great chance for my squad to show what they can do and hopefully both sets of fans will enjoy the game.
 
"I look forward to welcoming my old club to Prenton Park ahead of the new season."
 
Before that a Liverpool XI will face Chester City on Tuesday, July 21 at the Deva Stadium. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Liverpool XI probably means a mix of reserve and youth team players and will probably be managed by John McMahon. That Tranmere fixture is inbetween our two far-east games, so I can't see any first-team squad being involved.

Ahh right okay, fair doos!

We have to have a game with Tranmere, it's probably part of the deal in which they've agreed to let us use Prenton Park as our reserve ground or part of the deal bring Johnny Acterberg to Anfield.

Plus with Barnes and McAteer there, McMahon and Achterberg here it's common sense really. We had a game with them last year as well didn't we?

Be a good run out for the lads, a chance to impress McMahon early on.
