Liverpool Pre Season Fixtures 2009/10

15th July St Gallen (Switzerland)
19th July Rapid Vienna (Austria)
22nd July Thailand
26th July Singapore
2nd August Espanyol (Spain)
5th August FC Lyn (Norway)

I expect Torres and probably most of our Spanish contigent will miss the first and possibly the second due to Spain's participation in the Confederations Cup.

Would assume so.  Nice little summer trip to Barcelona there for those heading over.

Are the countries in brackets the countries we'll be playing in mate or just where the club is from?

But surely the transfers the two clubs did in the summer has had some barring on why they chose us to be the first team to play at their new ground?

Yup, as well as the Singapore national team. Both of them are sh*te to be honest, in top gear will have a great chance of whacking them at least 8-0, based on current form.

Nah, doubt it, if i'm not mistaken, the last time Liverpool played Thailand and Singapore, it was 6-0 and 3-1 or something.

The last time Liverpool played Singapore back in 2001, it was 2-0. But based on current form, we can shoot past 4 goals at the Old Toilet, then what about national teams that are ranked 130th-ish in the world?

Would like to see Bayer added to that list to be honest.

Yeah they can easily score 20 but the won't really take it seriously. That's what I think.

Shame then that we won't be playing at the level we played at Old Trafford. It'll be a run-out for the reserves and a few first-teamers.

REDS ANNOUNCE PRE-SEASON FIXTURES

   Liverpool Football Club has today confirmed its pre-season programme for the start of the 2009-10 campaign.
The Reds will kick off their summer friendlies with a match against FC St Gallen in Switzerland on July 15, before crossing the border into Austria to take on Rapid Vienna on July 19.
 
Rafael Benitez's squad will then embark on their Asian tour which will take in two matches, against Thailand in Bangkok on July 22 and against Singapore at the Singapore national stadium on July 26.
 
A game in Spain against Espanyol has been confirmed for August 2 as part of the deal which saw Albert Riera move to Anfield last summer, while the club's massive Scandinavian fan base will be delighted to have the chance of watching their heroes live when FC Lyn provide the opposition in Norway on August 5.
 
A further game at Anfield could also be added to this schedule. Stay logged on to Liverpoolfc.tv for further news.

Your correct DLS about Riera............

A friendly at Anfield would be nice, I missed the pre-season one last year as I was on holiday in Scotland, mind you I did see us thrash Rangers at Ibrox 

I wish we had one or two friendlies in England but it should be a good pre season.

I've never seen us play national teams before. This should be interesting.
