Since Glazer's sons took over after his passing there does seem a reluctance to spend the outrageous amounts of money they were famous for, as you indicate.
Their gradual eclipse over the past few year reinforces the proposition along with the 20 point gap between them and Citeh.

Now with the dysfunctional Mourinho at the helm the Mancs demise is nailed on, they are committed to his direction for years to come, happy days for all manc haters.

Just checked tonight's listings & yeah the highlights are on ITV tonight at 10.45 ,I recommend butterkist myself.

He's scored one goal for them afaik, after missing a penalty.

He doesn't want to be there, and the tactics they play neuters his effectiveness against rubbish teams, let alone big ones. While he's wasting his time at that club, the rest of the league has nothing to worry about.

They have a lot of quality in attack and midfield, but many of these players are the shadow of the players they should be, and that all comes down to the coach.

As a neutral fan of the premier league, I often switch off when United are on. Sure, football is ultimately about winning, but it's a sport, it's an enjoyment, its an escape from every day life, it should not be a chore. Especially when you have the resources United have and not the concern about selling to buy and stuff like this, that many clubs have. And United are a chore to watch.

So good riddance to them in CL, the quarter finals will be blessed by some really good teams who play really good football.

Over on their sh*te site they roundly condemn Mourinho and blame him for most of the world's misfortunes, not least their club's gradual decline.
