Got this totally brilliant anthem on its release and its one of very few "stay fresh" tunes out there,always seems to be a facet of it that draws you in and makes you ponder - one thing though there's a line in the song that goes"lays me down with my mancheros" can anyone enlighten me? this one definitely slipped through the net.

I always thought it was a term connected with the subject matter which was unfamiliar to me,not being entirely clued up on the"golden brown" article mentioned which I'm sure you're aware of.

The song works on two levels; Heroin and a young Mediterranean lady ......both of which Hugh Cornwall (song's writer) done  and both of which provided him "with pleasurable times."

I'm glad you's have cleared that one up for me. I always thought it said 'man chinos'. 

By the way, Gow has been associating Gordon Brown with that song for ages now - ruins a classic song if you ask me.
