Nice! I've slipped up there, didn't even know they were touring.

Yeah, just saw my mate throw up that he's going, on FB.

Also a friend of mine was going to QOTSA but got sick.
Needless to say I wasn't able to take up the offer of tickets.

      :(

sh*te, another excellent live band... I presume.
Closest I've been to seeing them is Kyuss! Quite shocking considering how long I've been a fan.

The 1975 are my guilty pleasure. They're coming to Galway next month afaik as I know, so might go.

Galway rarely gets that many gigs (of somewhat established artists) like!

Not exactly concert related but have just booked for 9 of the family to go to a panto at Christmas.  Thankfully I'll be working but I'm sure they'll all have a fantastic time  ;)

Saw them a few years ago in a festival, it was amazing. They have a very special place in my heart, for they were one of the first "alternative" bands I ever got to listen to as a teenager. Must be weird to see them without Kim Deal though!

They'll be back in Brazil next year for another festival, playing on the same day as Arcade Fire, I'm seriously considering buying tickets as a Christmas present to myself!

Sorry for getting back late Rep. How was it? Hmmm...

Thirty-six tunes belted out in a relentless, 1hour 45min, attack on my senses mate - never before have I left a gig feeling battered by the music alone. I've seen them a few times now and they've always been great but I've never experienced anything like this. Heavier, dirtier, punkier, grungier and louder than ever. Song after song assault. F***ing euphoric.

They didn't play the 'greatest hits' set; leaving out the more recognisable; more melodic tracks like; 'Wave of Mutilation'; 'Debaser'; 'Here Comes Your Man'; 'Caribou' and 'Gigantic', for example... so some fans, less familiar with their stuff might have left disappointed but I doubt it... not if they like music.

The band all on top of their game; all at the same time. I'm privileged to say I seen that.

      * Warning - they ain't for the faint-hearted or folk who like watery, MoR, acts like Coldplay or Mumshit & Sons.

I'm jealous but glad you had a good one. I must admit I might have been disappointed that they didn't play their 'hits' but only because I haven't seen them before.

      Oh          Stop.  :D

Strangely enough Rep they played them, at the same venue, the previous evening. The thing was you wouldn't have noticed 'til you were outside still 'battered', still buzzing, still half-deaf, still unable to do much more than croak and by that time it was 'too late'.

Got them tickets for The 1975.

Thinking about going to Arcade Fire & The Pixies in June. The only thing is it's on a Sunday & on in Dublin so would require a day off work, one which I don't really have. Would it be worth going up and just leaving after the gig and not getting the night out after? I done it once before and seriously regretted the night out after given the type of gig & the lads stories from that night the following day.

I'vse seen a bit of Arcade Fire before but would love the full show. I only know 'Here Come Your Man' by The Pixies tbh, and if you can count The Breeders, then Cannonball too.

I only know 'Here Come Your Man' by The Pixies tbh,

I wouldn't usually advocate going for greatest hits albums but you could do worse than to 'acquire' Wave of Mutilation. The second half of that album in particular contains some of their more accessible songs, such as those BBB listed as not being played that night, plus Monkey Gone to Heaven, Where Is My Mind and Dig For Fire.
If you can get into those then you might start to like their other stuff but that's the easiest way in, rather than wading through a discography.

Already got tix for the Pixies/Arcade Fire at Marlay park mate - couldn't miss it.

Off to Less Than Jake (support Reel Big Fish) at the Limelight Belfast tonight. An amazing live band. I'll be sore in the morning.

Got a ticket for Bad Religion (again) next week. Not sure if I'll be able to make it though, with the new job and everything. But hopefully I will... saw them a few years ago and they're still awesome.

I'm thinking of going to the the other one - Arctic Monkeys as I haven't seen them yet.

Got tickets for Breach in Dublin for next month too, and possibly Wilkinson here in Galway in a few weeks, mid week tho so it's a balls. Duke Dumont is here tonight, I'd kill for tickets for him.

Not even a tough one; each to their own mate but if you're open to advice from an aul fart - Wise the F**k up.  ;D
