Im going to be living in the USA for at least the next year, and I was wondering if anyone can give me any information on the EPL coverage over here? What are the channels or packages available that will give me best access to Liverpool games? Back in Australia I was able to see every game of the season on my cable but I doubt thats the case here right?
On regular TV. None. Sorry. Fox Sports will show the Replays 2-3 days after the Match. They do show Champions League Live but only the Quarterfinals and Final. However, now that ESPN bought the broadcast rights that might change and you may be able to get it through your cable provider.
If ESPN does not have a specific package you will need to get a Dish and then sign up for the "Football Package" which is awesome, You get every Premier Match and Coca-Cola Matches, Championship, Champions League and I think it may Include the other leagues Serie A, Bundesliga etc, But I am not 100% sure.
It sucks being a fan of Liverpool and I live in the only country in the f***in world that doesnt follow English football. You will have some other options. You can go to any number of local sports bars. You will need to do some research and find a pub which shows the matches. The main issue in going to a Pub is the time difference. If their is an early kickoff, the Pub might not even be open... I live in Atlanta, and luckily, their is a huge EPL pub in Atlanta which has Breakfast and Football. The pub opens at 6-7 am depending on kick-off. It is early, but the food is good and the people their are Real fans. In the US if you go watch a match at 6am then your considered a real fan. Plus the other people their are the same and you meet some cool people.
If you go to a US pub on Saturday or Sundays you may not see the EPL matches. In the US Saturday and Sunday are "American Football" days. Saturday will be mostly College Football and Sundays and Monday Night are NFL, our Pro Football. If Interested you might like American Football..I love both. I love Liverpool and I love the Sport everything about the English Game. I also love American Football and followed the Cleveland Browns since I was 1.
I make room for both and If your planning on living here you should watch it. I know the argument, "Its Boring", "too slow" etc,etc,.. Its not the highest grossing sports league in the world because it sucks..Their is no argument in trying to compare the sports. Its pointless, they are 2 totally different sports. You might need a little time to understand the game, but it is awesome and well worth following.
If your moving to Atlanta your in luck, and I can steer you to the right place. Boston has a huge LFC fan base and they have a LFC Pub. They get old players to come a sign autographs and talk and watch the matches. Pretty Cool...Anywhere else you need to do a little work. Drop me a line If you need any help or have questions and I'll try and hook you up.
