This is a player I never liked, not even when he was wearing a Liverpool shirt. Never liked his attitude and even less his football, dont rate him at all.

Strange choice, can't actually imagine him there.

I don't think they are even in the Champions League next year are they.

Just checked - isn't it only two teams from Greece? If so then it's Olimpiacos and PAOK.

Couldn't judge an offside to save his life.

Saw it earlier today, was a bit shocked as I did see somewhere something about Spurs being interested in him.

No offence to the Greek league, it just seems a bit of a step down, although in a World Cup year, I bet it's to try and get in the French squad.

As long as he is as far away from Anfield as possible I'm happy. Houlier made some terrible decisions with regards to signings, even though Djib did score a penalty in Istanbul he was still dead wood.

Wasn't it Xabi who scored the pen?

Striker joins Wolverhampton Wanderers for undisclosed fee

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of striker Kevin Doyle from Reading for an undisclosed fee.

Sky Sports News revealed on Monday that a deal was in the offing, with an offer in the region of £6million accepted by the Royals.

The Republic of Ireland international has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League new boys.

Doyle, 25, joined Reading from Cork City in 2005 and netted 55 league goals in 154 appearances.

He told Wolves' official website: "I'm delighted to get the move sorted and can't wait to get going.
      Delighted

"I spoke to the manager and chief executive over a week ago and came to the training ground to see everything.

"I've been making my mind up over the last couple of weeks and am just really pleased the decision has been made.

"The facilities here are top class and it's great to be going back into the Premier League again.

"I'm sad to be leaving Reading because I had some great years there but I'm going with their blessing as well which is nice. This is a fresh start."

      Club-record fee

Reading director of football Nick Hammond said on Reading's official website: "He has arguably been one of the club's best ever signings, in terms of what he produced on the pitch, the value for money he gave us, and now the fact he has been sold for a club-record fee.

"The point in time arrived where it was the right opportunity for him and the right deal for the club as well.

"I have already offered my best wishes and I am sure the supporters will be doing the same to a player who rightly earned their respect.

"Lastly, it is important from my own point of view to say that Wolves, and in particular their chief executive Jez Moxey, have been a pleasure to deal with and very straightforward. They have got themselves a top player."

      Agreed.

It's going to be interesting to see how Ebans-Blake fairs in the Premier League too.
