This helps to finally see Glen Johnson in our colours, takes away from some of the negative press surrounding key players leaving, Its allways nice to see a new addition paraded for the cameras in the colours of our great club and can only giveus all hope for another one to be announced and paraded in the not too distance fututre. Welcome again Glen to the greatest club in the world and You'll Never Walk Alone whilst playing for the mighty red machine.

He stole a toilet seat as he needed to use the loo
Ohhhhh its Glen he's running down the wing
The officer on the scene said its time for you to sing
He then replies lets take it from the top
I only want to play in front of the Kop

Looks like I was maybe a little pyschic the other week when I picked him out as Liverpool's number two

Liverpool can win title - Johnson
Liverpool defender Glen Johnson believes his new side are capable of winning the Premier League.

The 24-year-old England international moved to Anfield from Portsmouth for a fee in the region of £17.5m in June.

When asked if the Reds could win the title next season, Johnson told BBC Sport: "Definitely, they were so close to doing it last season.

"Obviously the lads have so much desire to improve and to get that medal that I wouldn't put anything past them."

Johnson is aware of Rafa Benitez's penchant for players who can play in more than one position.

The former West Ham United, Chelsea and Portsmouth man, who played at right-back and right-wing on the south coast last season said he is comfortable adapting to the needs of the team.

"I started as a striker when I was young then at West Ham through the youth teams I was a centre-back and right-back and even midfield," said Johnson.

"We spoke about it [versatility] and I was playing left-back in training, obviously it's ideal if players can play in more than one position."

Johnson had a mixed spell at his last 'top-four' side Chelsea - he was signed by Claudio Ranieri but then fell out of favour following the arrival of Jose Mourinho.

The London-born defender believes he has now reached a level where he can sustain a place in a major side challenging for honours.

"I left Chelsea to do exactly what I did so I'm pleased that I've done that," he said. "I'm not going to sit on my laurels I want to push again."

Great optimism from our new signing!

Hasn't it been quiet when signing someone like Glen without Parry around to mess things up. Now that Parry has gone long may it continue. Glen Johnson played in a poor team last season, it's to Johnson's credit that he stood out in a team that chopped and changed all season. He has a chance now to show us what he can do with better players around him, welcome Glen...

Welcome to Anfield lad, I hope he gets a good start, I'm sure he'll be keen to do well.

To all those posters who have said, "I'm not sure about him", "I don't rate him", let's give him a chance eh to see what he can do, at least wait until he's played half a dozen games  for us, he needs our support like all the lads do, let's get behind every single one of them more than ever this season and roar them to victory and that number 19, let's do it in style this season, and Glen can be a massive help in pushing us in the right direction.

And with a name like Johnson, he's gotta be good stuff  ;)

Well said.. Certainly got my support, hoping he fits straight in at RB and maybe gives us a bit more support and creativity down the right.

I found it interesting him playing left back - and more importantly how well he played there.

Obviously I had already mentioned it when we signed him that he could (and got shot down in flames about it) but with Aurelio's injury problems, Dossena's shiteness problems - then if we keep Arbeloa it could be a genuine plan?

Also I was hugely impressed with his attacking ability.  I can see him scoring a handful next year.  His delivery in to the box was excellent as well.

A huge + for Glenny boy off me.
