For those of you not familiar of the term 'arl' - it means 'old' in scouse.
I remember my nan saying bagwash years ago mate!
Oh yeah keep forgetting not everybody understands or uses Scouse.
I better explain the word bagwash as well then, it's a slang word for launderette. It's not used by everybody but more by the "common" if you like. As you can guess a few scallies on Prinny Rd are hardly gonna stand there and say "me mam was doing the washing before and then the washing machine broke, had me lacoste tracky in it as well so she's running up the launderettes later."
It just doesn't fit into the sentence.
