Went and watched Mandela today, was better than I thought to be honest. Though not entirely sure they picked the right person to play Mandela IMO.

Yeah, Lone Survivor is definitely worth a watch. Got Dallas Buyers Club, but not watched it yet. Watching The Wolf of Wallstreet at the moment. Presumably McConaughey made it around the same time as Dallas Buyers Club as he looks like he just got out of Belsen.

Wolf of Wallstreet well worth a watch , just to see what real money can buy and how low people can sink when they have it .... or want it. Incredible performance by DiCaprio.

Yeah, saw that too, very funny in parts. DiCaprio was incredible in that, I think he's a brilliant actor.

Watched The Truman Show for the first time tonight... shame on me!

      Was fantastic!

'Tis a stonking bit of cinema history but it's a film that has never given me the urge to re-watch it.

Currently watching Universal Soldier.  Must be one of JCVD's best films even with some shoddy cinematography at times and Lundgren just chewing scenery and stealing scenes.

      12 Years A Slave.

      Good but equally depressing.

Finished reading the book last week, it is a very powerful narrative, hard to believe that not that long ago such horrors were common place in so many people's lives. Will see the film soon. I heard it makes justice to the book.

Usually books are better, let us know what you think after you've seen the flick.

Not to familiar with Mexico so I thought I'd give this a watch and wow! Brilliant film about 2 young lads in a street gang (Mara Savarutcha) and the life they live and all about the illegal border crossings into the States. Defiantly worth a watch, always knew Mexico had a serious crime problem and this more or less portrays this really well. I think it's on Netflix if not you can get it on DVD or online. Oh and it's in Spanish so if you don't speak it there is subtitles. Loved it!

Sin Nombre is pretty good. Fukunaga's directing debut, promising director. He's also directed HBO's promising new tv series True Detective, and is also supposed direct a remake of Stephen King's It.

I watched The Wolf of Wall Street this week, great movie, fun too.

Watching a film called Ricochet.  Denzel Washington (superb) & John Lithgow (amazing) in a better than it probably should be 90's cliche-ridden action thriller.  Lithgow has always had great screen presence and chomps through scenes & scenery all the way through this. 4 out of 5 for me, even though it's more than a tad ridiculous.

Let's hope he does a better job of the ending!

I've heard some bad things too.

Jonah Hill: ā€œā€œIf I want to see Jonah Hill masturbate at a pool party, Iā€™d go to one of Jonah Hillā€™s pool parties,ā€ Poehler said when discussing Wolf of Wall Street. (Then Fey talked about how he used a prosthetic penis in the filmā€¦ ā€œso you have that to look forward to next time you eat in Planet Hollywood.ā€)

Bought a copy off eBay, save me downloading it just to find out that the subtitles are messed up or something.
      If it's sh*t, I'm blaming you for the Ā£2.49 I've blown  :P

Watched The wolf of wall street, it was very, very long. The film is kinda ok, not the best one Scorsese has made, but Di Caprio is great in it, his performance was my highlight of the whole thing.

Di Caprio is captivating in it.
A lot about the movie that didn't set well with me,
although that's probably more to do with the subject matter.

Worth watching just for Di Caprio's performance.

This is where I'll have a problem, Di Caprio, along with Clooney & Crowe, leave me cold.  Just never seem to enjoy watching films starring them.  Have the same kind of problem with the comedian Lee Evans, no idea why.
