Watched,"Joker" the other day when it came out on Netflix. I remembered it got some some favourable reviews, so I gave it a go despite having no interest in comic book films. I watched til the end and I was interested in J. Phoenix's performance but I found the tone disturbing. It was a bit like Taxi Driver, people being pushed into psychosis by a violent and brutal society where there's sympathy for the psychology of the disturbed, but no respect for how he chose to deal with it. My problem with the tone is that he seemed to be saying that protest is riot and based only on psychotic rage.
