40th anniversary of Man on the Moon
      Jul 20, 2009 12:55:50 am
      Today.

Well done to Neil, Buzz and Michael - the first dudes to land something on something other than Earth and to actually open a door and get off and have a mooch about.

40 years ago. I bet all the people then thought by now we'd all be going there for our holidays.

Alas, we decided it was a bit sh*t and the lack of Oxygen was a small problem.

Still - it has to be without a shadow of a doubt - THE moment of the 20th century and something that will be remembered for not just thousands of years - but tens of thousands of years from now when we really are all living in space.

Amazing piece of history. Wish I would have been alive to see it happen.

You'd think they would have landed on Mars by now though.

Congratulations to the Astronauts (especially Neil) for not letting the fame get to them. I think that's an achievement in itself. Had it been anyone else, they might have easily become big headed about it. Where is Neil Armstrong now? It's an answer which isn't well known, although you'd think it would be well known as the man stepped on the moon. The first moonwalker.

RIP Michael Jackson - the other moonwalker.

I was nine at the time, awesome achievement in it's time. Don't think it could be done now 40 years latter.
