She had her operation this morning, went well but she is really sleepy at the moment due to the anaesthetic

Good news 7KK7 hope the recovery is quick and goes well.

This morning she wasn't too good, felt pretty sh*t to be honest but that was partly due to a lack of food but when she had something to eat she started to feel a fair bit better.

She also has the feeling in her left leg back and can move it really well, was bending it at the knee and everything. Big relief that, she had a nerve trapped causing it to be numb since around November, now she just needs to build the muscles up in it again.

The biggest point though is that she walked today, without crutches, held someones hand and done really well, was only like little steps but it is a really good sign, her posture is so much better as well.

Best of all though is that she comes home tomorrow and soon starts aqua physio therapy or something.

Made up your sisters on the mend mate. :)

No joke discs are they? My Mum and Dad have both had similar problems, both proper f*cked with it. At least your sis has had it sorted early so she can get sorted and back to normal.

Came home today, and is moving pretty well but she can't walk too far yet though over the next few days it will continue to improve. Still in a fair amount of pain but again over the next few days that will get better.

She needs a good night sleep though and that will make a difference, the slightest thing would disturb her in the hospital.

Shes doing well thanks fella, shes still in pain from the surgery but they said that would be the case for around 10-14 days. She has been going about without her crutches and her steps are getting bigger instead of tiny little ones that take an age to get anywhere. Come off a fair bit of the medication she was on before the operation.

She sorted one of her horses out today as well, took her a while but she managed it relatively well.

The evenings is when she feels the pain most though but that's because she has spent most the last few months hardly doing anything so it's just a case of taking it step by step and not trying to do too much too soon.

She has set herself a target to go out clubbing again in 4 weeks
I think that will be a bit soon but I dint think it will be too long before she really starts to get back to normal.

Will probably take her a few months to learn to bend and everything normally, thats because of the cage they put in though.

Well in. That's good news. She shouldn't rush it though. Just let it take its natural course and loosen up and strengthen the muscles and that. I'm made up to hear her recovery is going well. Nobody deserves to have to suffer like that. (Well, almost no-one).

Oh i forgot about her left leg

Thats fine now too and no longer numb, can move it normally but it aches pretty quick because again she needs to build the muscles up again.

I could give her a hand building the muscles in her legs and helping her get used to bending over again.

I'm sure it will take time - unsused muscles start to atrophy, so there'll be more damage to repair than she ever imagined, or it ever could look from the outside. Is she having physio?
