Scholes is a fantastic midfielder. Passing ability that can match Xavi and Alonso's. I would say he's better then Gerrard in his prime but he can't tackle though.

You have an awful dislike for Gerrard mate (that much we already know) but there's no F***ing way, as long as your arse points South, that Paul Scholes is, was or ever will be better than Stevie.  >:D

All about opinions really. Xavi thinks he's the greatest midfielder of the last 20 years and Iniesta rates him as one of the greatest midfielders around.

Sure he's a proper c**t but the way he's still playing at the top flight at 35 is admirable.

I do think I should give Gerrard more respect, he's a fantastic player and leader but I guess the last 18 months he's been poor which has changed my opinion on him.

I find it difficult to find a team but Bergkamp, Henry, Gerrard, Vieira, Keana, Beckham, Shearer, Giggs, Schmeichel, Hyypia, A. Cole, Alonso, Fowler, Zola, Ronaldo, Reina and many more have made such a huge impact in the league throughout the years.

But Zinedine Zidane believes Steven Gerrard to be the best player in the world ;) Even Kaka has said the same!

Definitely would have to put Henry, Vieira, Gerrard, Shearer, Ronaldo and Bergkamp in the squad though.

It's all about opinions. Gerrard was argueable the best player on the planet 18 months ago. Although I think Messi or Ronaldo would say something different.

But in the last 18 months Gerrard has been poor. Scholes has been a lot better and a lot more consistently last 18 months and he is 4 years older, infact it was last month Xavi said he was the geatest midfielder of the last 20 years.

I'm sure Gerrard will get back to his deadly best if his groin injuries clear up but till then I've felt he's been very poor, by his high standards.

I changed my opinion that if they were both in their prime, I would take Gerrard over Scholes.

Creating a premiership team is difficult, so many top players who you could pick.

Even Scholes at his very best is still not a patch on Stevie G, Stevie has everything you need in a footballer and much much more, comparing him to that manc little twunt really pisses me off  :f_steam:

I wouldn't exactly call Gerrard poor in the last 18 months. True, he has some really sh*t games in that period but just because he hasn't been scoring like back in 2008/2009, doesn't mean he has been a poor player.

It's also called the All Time Premiership 11 and not the Last 18 Months Premiership 11 and a Steven Gerrard at prime or overall in his football career, he's generally way better than Paul Scholes at prime.

Bad news for Paul Scholes is, he can never be as good as Gerrard but the good news is, he can try.  ;D
