      The Seriousness Of The Situation.
      Oct 19, 2009 02:59:15 pm
      Imagine the unimaginable.

      We finish 5th, 6th or 7th.

Missing out on Champions League football. Unfathomable.

The rumoured £70 million Man City bid for Torres would no doubt be accepted, leading to offers for Gerrard. I could see the two going, both getting older wanting success.

As a result of not securing income, we go into administration, banned from European football and a 10 point deduction.

Should this happen, and THIS IS FEASIBLE by the way. It would take years for us to get back to where we should be; no new stadium and back to square one and a few years of anonymity whilst everyone else around us keeps moving forward. I not being all doom and gloom, its just everyone needs to realise this situation.

John Nicholsons (Football 365 blog) is a very good read, and would get you thinking just how serious the situation is.

We lose a couple of games and everyone craps themselves, yes what you say is possible but it's extremely unlikely we haven't been playing well but we're also yet to put a full strength first XI and we have a lot of room for improvement something which IMO our competitors don't have or very little.

People just need to calm down.
