      Liverpool handed quadruple fitness boost

Liverpool may have lost Steven Gerrard for a month, but there is better news surrounding key quartet Fernando Torres, Glen Johnson, Dirk Kuyt and Martin Skrtel.

Gerrard was sent for scans on a hamstring injury on Thursday, and the results revealed a grade two tear meaning a three-to-four-week absence for the Liverpool skipper.

However, the Reds will have prized asset Fernando Torres for Saturday's visit of West Ham, live on ESPN, despite fears over an ankle injury picked up in the 2-0 defeat to Stoke. Torres played only 45 minutes of Spain's midweek loss to Portugal, but he will start this weekend.

Elsewhere, Kuyt has recovered from an ankle injury that saw him withdraw from international duty with Netherlands, and Martin Skrtel is also expected to be declared fit following knee and ankle knocks.

Glen Johnson, recently criticised by Roy Hodgson (?), is also available for selection after an adductor injury.

Not great news either. Rather a fit Gerrard than Johnson any day, unless hes learnt how to defend in his time off.

Not entirely jumping for joy because whether they play or not, Roy is going to put some sh*te tactics but I guess their returns can only give us a slightly better chance at winning.

That's my thing. Gerrard in midfield at least gives me hope of extra creativity, Johnson playing doesn't at the moment. Torres, barring a moment of magic, will probably be watching the ball getting pinged around on the other side of the pitch and Kuyt, as much as i like him, needs players around him to play well for him to play well.

Not trying to be negative or anything, its just the way i see it.

Don't really give a doogle that Johnson is fit as I'd rather have Kelly at right back anyway.

Id like Johnson to play on the right wing... That is what happened to bale.. moved to left wing and things looked a hell different

Great news,we need as many fit player as we can have at least till Jan.Gerrard injury is a big setback though as it couls also mean the return of Poulsen to the team.I would however like to see Joey being played in hole and Kuyt,Johnno playing wide positions.

Johnson would be a very very good option for extra creativity as would Babel on the other side. Need to let some shackles loose. Kelly better start this game.

Yes and I bet Johnson is really motivated after Hodgsons kind comments.

Well, Hodgson's "sh*t" tactics worked against West ham.

Johnson also tore West ham apart.

I could be blind as F**k after a bottle of absinthe with beer chasers and still manage a win against that pile of sh*t we played against Saturday!

      Keep it in context, solodee.
