Liverpool may have lost Steven Gerrard for a month, but there is better news surrounding key quartet Fernando Torres, Glen Johnson, Dirk Kuyt and Martin Skrtel.
Gerrard was sent for scans on a hamstring injury on Thursday, and the results revealed a grade two tear meaning a three-to-four-week absence for the Liverpool skipper.
However, the Reds will have prized asset Fernando Torres for Saturday's visit of West Ham, live on ESPN, despite fears over an ankle injury picked up in the 2-0 defeat to Stoke. Torres played only 45 minutes of Spain's midweek loss to Portugal, but he will start this weekend.
Elsewhere, Kuyt has recovered from an ankle injury that saw him withdraw from international duty with Netherlands, and Martin Skrtel is also expected to be declared fit following knee and ankle knocks.
Glen Johnson, recently criticised by Roy Hodgson (?), is also available for selection after an adductor injury.
