Obviously, being knocked out of the group stages today means we're in the Europa League. Sure, as a Liverpool fan you want to be at the pinnacle, playing at the best stadiums against the best teams but as a club we have to accept our fate and move on.
Reading around, some don't seem to be interested in the competition we are now entered into. But why? Is it not anther trophy for us to win? Have we not had glorious nights in the competition in the past? (New name, same trophy). Will winning this competition, or atleast getting to the final, be a failure for the club? Personally, i'm excited to see how we go.
It will only act as motivation for the players, fans and club as a whole to show us where we want to be and next season, we as a club will ensure that the Champions League returns home because the memory of being knocked out was too much to bare.
So chins up, eh? Lets try and bring this mother home.
