If anything I thought the weak link was Degen, left us pretty flat at RM.

Rieras big problem is not only can he do it week inweek out but can he do it for 90 minutes? He offers us somethings that we do lack but he can be inclined to go missing far too often in games

Riera? Thought he was pretty much the weak point through much of the game to be honest mate.

Maybe, but he offered a little bit more on the left-hand side than Aurelio has, and thought he did well for someone coming back from a hamstring injury. Was unlucky with his header too.

Good to see the team together and fighting for each other.

He can take a corner, free kick, isn't scared at having a crack at goal and can go past a player.

Sure - he isn't Ronaldo, but that's why he cost £8M and not £80M.

First game back from a lengthy lay out I think he did more than most would on our notoriously problematic left wing.

Deffo for me if Aurelio was playing LM we would not have offered much at all going forward much like the Stoke game. He also took all the dead balls quite well for me. Riera is more of an LW, he likes getting forward and getting involved which is good for us. The one thing i like, is that when he is on the ball, he always keeps the defender guessing he will go outside and inside.

Have to admit. I think Riera looked like we have been missing him. Know you're not a big fan but I think he does something for us that nobody else on the left wing can.

If you think we have a better left winger then....

We don't have a left winger in my opinion.  ;)

He may have looked a bit better than Fabulous Aurelio on the wing. But I don't think he was effective. If we compare wings, I'd say Degen was better. And that really does say something.

Dont get me wrong. Hed be in my team on the left and as you point out offers things we lack. My only fault with him is his consistency within a game let alone a season (I mean overall not tonight coming back from injury)

Absolutely mate! It was great to see. That's the way it should be every single game. And Carra set the example from the off there tonight. Deserves a load of credit for that I feel.

Funny how people see the game differently isn't it? :D

I thought Degen was a bit of a weak link and thought Riera did very well, especially coming back from injury.  Degen for all the running he does, just doesn't have much affect on the game IMO whereas Riera hit the bar, had a decent long range effort and his delivery into the box wasn't bad either.  A definite improvement on Aurelio on the left anyway.

Just got back from the game....f*ckin buzzin! it's a long time since I've left Anfield feeling like this!

Was almost like a european night at times with that atmosphere....one of the best fields of Anfield Road went round the whole ground, and even the anny road were standing up and singing which is something i've not heard for a while!

Krgy was outstanding again, as was Dirk and Aqua.

"Harry Pay ur tax, harry harry pay ur tax" "your getting taxed in the morning" Loved it when that went round

argh I can go to sleep a happy man for a change! I love you Dirk!!  :D

F***ing loved every minute of that, still feel over the moon.

We were deserving winners and showed the F***ing world why Spurs are nothing but hype.

Everybody in Red played well and it's been too long since we could say we missed the chances and sill came out on top. Four or five decent chances as well as the two we did score just goes to show how dominant we were.

      Up the League we march.

Just finished watching (tape delay over here)

One of the biggest differences was we actually attacked the last 10 minutes. Thats the way to close out a match.
Giving up late goals has been killing us.

Wonder what our record would be if the games were 85 minutes ;)

Incredible effort by everybody, gutsy win , really took the game to Spurs late. Shoulda had a couple more also.

Beat Villa, Beat Spurs, two teams we had to beat, 4th place doesnt seem unlikley at all.
      Just gotta play like today.

Hey, we are only 11 points off the top :D

Plus the KOP was loud as hell today , great job!

Great win - atmosphere sounded fantastic. Team were brilliant, thought Carra/the Greek and Dirk should get special mention.  Loved the passion, commitment and drive from everyone.  Now lets see that for the rest of the season!!! ;D

We'd definitely be in the Champions League and would probably be at least 7 points better off. (Or 4 off the top).

      And another thing.

Spurs team cost £50M more than Liverpool's. Spurs have spent £80M more in the last 2 years than Rafa.  And we have 5 first teamers out.

It is funny. I think what it points out in the general scheme of things is that the wings are problem areas for us. Still. And they have been for a long time in all honesty haven't they.

I feel Degen attacked the box more than Riera did in actual play. He done the good thing of giving the spurs defence something to think about, which can easily have an effect on the other defenders and create space for our forward men. Especially when the team is showing a drive forward and pressure mentality (for once). It's alright if Riera is kicking a dead ball from a free kick into the box with no pressure, or back heeling the ball backwards. He didn't really drive forward that much though did he? I don't feel he did anyway. Granted, he did well to hit the bar though. I suppose going off tonight's performance, if you could mix Degens effort with Riera's skill, then we may well have a winger.  ;D
