      Wolves v Liverpool - 26th Jan 2010 7.45pm - Pre Match

Straight off the back of the home Victory against Tottenham we now find ourselves traveling to Wolverhampton Wanderers at  Molineux looking to build on the 10 points we have accumulated from 4 wins undefeated in the Premier League.

With injuries to key players meaning they will be ruled out for this fixture, I'm hoping to see a pretty much unchanged line up from what we seen at Anfield Wednesday evening, maybe with the exception of seeing Maxi Rodriguez handed his full Premier League Debut. I would like to think that 3 points are a certainty here as long the players to show the same grit, passion and determination to win the game as they displayed in turning over Tottenham.

The two teams met as recently as Boxing Day at Anfield, when second-half goals from Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun secured a 2-0 victory for Liverpool.

The last meeting between the sides in the Midlands came in January 2004. Wolves claimed a point that evening when Kenny Miller's late strike cancelled out Bruno Cheyrou's opener and ensured the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

In fact, the Reds have not won at Molineux since April 1979 when an Alan Hansen goal gave them a 1-0 win.

Historic Head To Head - Last 97 Matches

      Wolves                   Liverpool
          33      Won        48
          16    Drawn       16
          48     Lost                33
        117      For               149
        149    Against        117
        -32    Goal Difference    32

Come on The Red Men treat every game as its a cup final from now until May and we'll see if we are in the mix come the end of it.

Need to keep the bit of a run were on going.

If Agger is match fit id have to throw him in beside Sotis. Other then that no need for changes (is masch suspended?) The same effort and passion as Wednesday and well be alright

The big greek fella deserves another start for me. No doubt about it.

Same as Spurs most likely, although you never know with Rafa.

Same team as Wed for me. The only change would be Maxi for Degen however think Rafa will stick with the same side.

I see its not on the Tv, anyone have any idea how we could watch it?

Masch picked up his 5th booking but since it came after the cut off of 31st Dec, he is not suspended.

I would keep the same starting line up as the other night but Rafa usually changes one or two positions and if Agger is fit I have a feeling it will be the big greek who misses out undeservedly.

I would like to see Maxi at some stage but I can see Rafa still using Degen on the right because we are away from home and Degen will get back better.

Surely Aquilani will complete 90 minutes this time!!!

We will win this match if we go with a positive approach. This is a good platform for rafa to prove his doubters wrong and put an attacking team.

Now that we are only a point behind spurs its given the team a well deserved lift and takes that pressure of a bit so we can play with more of a flow,i think a 3-0 is not beyond us.
A win would put serious pressure on teams like spurs, villa and city.

My heart still says we will finish 3rd.

We were too strong for them a few weeks ago, they took a while to break down.
Can't see them being any more attacking at home to be honest. If we can recreate the passion that we played with against tottenham we should win comfortably.

Just stick to the same team and we should win this game comfortably. IF i was the manager i'd replace Degen with Rodriguez, Wolves aren't exactly going to pose an extreme attacking threat, so the emphasis should be on attack, hence the inclusion of Rodriguez. Hope Riera starts again too.

Not the easiest game away from home but Wolves aren't the same promoted side as Stoke - they probably won't park the bus so we should be able to go there and create plenty of opportunities

Two things I'd like to see are for us to boss the midfield (keep the ball for long periods of time and work it up the pitch) and Maxi make his full debut   ;D

Didn't Alberto make his full debut in the home Wolves game as well?

Yes it does mate. We have to go for the throat against the likes of Wolves. No disrespect meant to Wolves by the way as i think Mick McCarthy is doing a grand job there, apart from the United game, for obvious reasons.

I'd be happy with the same starting line-up as Spurs. They were hungry. Hopefully they would be again.

Having said that - good chance to give Maxi his debut?

Perhaps. Especially if Wolves are going to try and park the bus.

Exactly mate if we take the attacking impetus and set about these from the off and give them a good walloping in their own backyard it will only breed confidence in the players, some one is due a real spanking from us and to be honest depending on how Rafa sets us up for this one, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was Wolves on the end of it.
