      Heavy Rain (PS3)
      Mar 01, 2010 04:26:05 pm
Anyone have it/know anything about it?

Just been looking at some reviews etc and it looks interesting but I'm struggling to get the jist of what it's actually about.

Seems to have extremely good reviews though and they all bang on about a 'dynamic control system'.

      Could anyone give some insight?

Theres going to be a similar release on the 360 in May. It's called Alan Wake. Loads of hype around it.

As for Heavy Rain, think I'm going to complete Bioshock 2 before I get it.

      Played the demo lastnight.

It's very innovative. The control systems remind me of those little interactive cut scenes in Resident Evil 4 and 5.

From what I can see with it, it's more like a very, very interactive Blu-Ray. Little bits of story, you decide which avenues you're best probing when asking questions, etc. Looking for evidence.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the 'best game ever.' One thing I've read on some comments on my PS3 friend list. :D But it's certainly original, and probably worth a pop.

Erm Ross mate.. I rented it for the second time... and just finished it.

It's like an interactive kinda of movie... but every thing you do can change how the story pans out.

It's a good game to be honest, but just rent it, coz if you stuck at it for a few days you'll finish it, and it's not one you'd buy anyways ;)

      But it is good...

p.s. the credits are hella long.

      Nice one Inert.

      Not worth buying then...

I don't tend to buy games nowadays with only offline play anyway.

Unless they're epics like Final Fantasy or Fallout, I'd have to agree. Online does play a big part these days.

Be a bit wierd if Heavy Rain was online though. :D I wonder if they'll release any additional content? Deleted scenes type of thing?

You get a shed load of bonus material throughout the game. But just like making ofs etc.

And I take it back... you could want to buy it. Personally I wouldn't because the killer is the same in every storyline.

There are about 20-25 different ways your story can end. Mine was kind of depressing if I may say so :(

Just do whatever you think you'd do if you were in the situation. That's how I played it.

That's a lot of endings to be fair. Do you get trophies for each one too?

I tried to have a nose at someones trophy list and all of them except one are blanked out. :D

Yep different trophies for each one I think too ;D

I'd reckon so... for certain actions you get certain trophies. So it would have to be different ones for different actions which change your story ;D

I like it. Sounds good for a trophy whore such as myself. :D

Still, got enough games to keep me occupied for a good while. And by the time I'm done, Fallout: New Vegas and Gran Turismo 5 (potentially) will be very close. :D

May still be a rental/bargain bin job for moi!

Yeah, to be honest I doubt you'll wanna go through the same kind of thing 20 times to get all the different endings, would be rather repetitive. ;)

How long will it take me to finish it? In hours.

Apparently about 10 hours, bit it can range from 8-12 depending how fast you are. At least, that's what I've read.

Jesus, about an hour gone and it's just all cut scenes.

      Though very atmospheric fair enough.

That scan thing with the glasses you use when you're the busy is quite good.

Deffo a good idea to rent this actually. Might join Blockbuster again. :D

I'm sorry, but if you thought this game was like GTA then you have yourself to blame for being misinformed there.

Finished it.  Really enjoyed it.  Popped it back in the envelope and it goes.

An ideal weekend rental game this one.
