Rafa is just trying to make him feel part of the managerial team. He's obvioulsy not doing much as our defensive coach  :P

My take is that he is the guy who assists Benitez in tactics and team instructions.

Sammy Lee is more of the man-motivator kind of manager. Pellegrino is perhaps one of the more astute and intelligent people.

Rafa decides who to bring on. He then tells Mauricio what is the sub's role when he's coming on, is he coming on to defend/attack etc. Then Pellegrino would then pass instructions to the sub. Rafa gives the sub his final word before the sub is sent on.

That is my take on the procedure.

Only thing I can think of is that Rafa and Sammy want to watch the game intently therefore asking Pellegrino to pass on their instructions.

Or maybe Rafa & Sammy are playing 'Guess Babels next Twitter rant & fine' whilst Pellegrino relays instructions???

He has been working with rafa for a very long time, since rafa's valencia days... He was a very good defender for rafa at valencia so rafa sign him up again but he was too old so he was off the pace... I loved it when I heard he was gonna join rafa's board...
Yeah he was a solid defender in his day!

Nobody else think it's a bit odd that it is the number 3 out there with the clipboard and last minute instructions?

To be honest JD, i don't know why there has to be a 'number two' at any football team, let alone a 'number three' but i'm old.

Maybe he was the only one who had remembered to bring a sharpie? :-\

      Bump.

A few years to look back on with a smile in defence for Valencia, doesn't make him a first team coach for us, does it? Is it a mate thing with Rafa? A job for one of the boys?

More importantly, has some 'fairly recent sh*t ex player for us', not to mention an inexperience of coaching, upset a few people with his coaching? Or quite frankly was it another on the cheap thing? There's so many things that confuse me about our club lately. First team coach means you coach the first team. Does it F**k look like they're being coached, trained, worked hard, etc etc etc!!!

Can anyone shed some light on this rather than a copy and paste job?

It may seem like I'm trying to lay blame. I'm definitely not. What I've seen this season makes me want to do an audit on everyone who's employed to influence football matters. Because I feel like I'm being cheated by my own club.

... when did anybody put him in charge?

Anyone any thoughts on why he gets to stand there with a clipboard telling the subs what to do?

Don't you mean the vocal minority (currently at 21%).

The other 79% of us think Pellegrino picks the team and we support RAFA FC. Apparently.

Ah I get it, it's all those funny sounding foreigners fault.

At least Sammy can breathe a sigh of relief.
