      Mar 24, 2010 05:47:05 am
I'm drunk and gloomy today knowing that bar any miracles we'll miss the top 4. So... here goes

      1. You don't need your winger to track back. Having your winger staying up and threatening will make them pinned back and you won't have to track back in the first place.

      2. If things are not working, try something else. You are called tactical genious because you change things.

      3. From a management (non football) point of view, stick and carrot is very important, and sometimes the outcomes of a tight contest boils down to who wants it most at times. So please... a little bit of praise and reward system.

      4. Please stay and prove me wrong, please stay and prove some of us wrong, please stay and prove them all wrong.

(feel free to add yours, I got a friend of a friend who's missus had an affair with the tea lady who's still blood related albeit far away with Rafa's mate. He will read it)

We got nothing to lose, please just go for the win in the remaining matches and not sit back and defend like matches against wolves and stoke away.

You got plenty of talent in the team, instead of using players like Dirk F***ing kuyt, please give chances to player like pacheco who might become a fixture in our team next season.

      Exactly..

Your a great man and a great manager and i for one will support you for as long as your here at our wonderful club..

Ps. I'd rather trust your judgment over a few know-it-all-armchair-manager-fans and ex players who seem to think (without watching a single training session) they know better..

Next time you get interviewed by Andy Burton, throw-in a little left-right combination, followed by an upper-cut and stamp on the little cu*ts face for extra effect.

Let's see what sky say about you then?

      haha i like that one!!

Stop playing 2 defensive midfielders as they dont help us score goals!

Play Aquliani a hell of alot more- No need to wrap him up & look after him- He is a man!!  (a 20m man!)
He is the midfielder to replace Alonso & support our strikers

And we will support manager/players/LFC always!

1.Neck and shoulders with Jasmine oil = £25

2.As above but Topless with Marigold gloves = £0.50p (you haven't seen me topless)

3.Extras, including- Custard a rubber hose and a Gerbil= £50 and some sunflower seeds for my Gerbil.

Sorry you did say Massages for Rafa? ???

1.Shave that goatee off for God's sake you look like you've been eating a steak and kidney pie!

2.Get Pako back or failing that someone who you will actually listen to input from.

3.Have the courage to let the team play like you know they can and in fact did when you let them off the leash last season.

4.You have created a wonderful youth academy and young reserves side please believe in them enough to let them have a crack at the first team instead of getting the hangmans noose that is…'Going out on loan!’

5.Stop being so stubborn everyone makes mistakes so if you get a player and I'm mentioning no names here but his name quite aptly rhymes with Mucus! Who patently is not good enough at least shoot rest him so hopefully he (whoever he is) can improve by knowing he at least isn't always going to be picked.

      6.Shave the goatee off.

7.When you play wingers could you either tell them to stay on the wing or at least attach their left/right leg to a six foot piece of chain so they cant go wandering off?

8.Stop please stop playing anyone and I do mean anyone out of position, it's a waste of the players talent and stops another coming in to stake a claim even if I do realise due to our squad quality it sometimes cant be helped.

9.Stop trying to have a go at other managers you just end up looking a spanner, be dignified and aloof and remain silent and with any luck Fergie will implode on his own venom.

10.Finally I don't know  how much sway you have over the catering section but in the Kop block 205 café theres a woman who looks like Nanny Mcphee on a day off and she's scaring the crap out of my son (hes only 25) so if you could shift her to polishing the floodlights I would be grateful. ;)

Although slightly tongue in cheek I would like to add that Rafa still has majority support at Anfield and introducing some of the policies above would in my opinion only serve to enhance that support.

Grow a pair of balls and play to our stregnths and not stopping other teams , you've gone against all our princeples that won 18 championships  , to win number 19 throw off the caution or go and manage in Italy where your methods would be more suited

When you walk through a storm
      Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm

And the sweet silver song of the lark

      Walk on through the wind

Ok, fun aside,we all want an attacking polcy over the remainder of the season,it makes sense. But are we prepared for failure? You can't expect the man to go gung ho,and then be hung by that policy if he fails.I personally would like him to go for it,but I will still support him if he fails.Anyone else got b*llocks?

We are Liverpool and we should put the fear of god into opponents and go for the throat at the start. Babel and AA deserve astarting place...oh and drop maxi! What does he do well? go to 4-4-2 for the last 7 games mate and see what happens.

give ryan a run at the top with torres, scare the sh*t out of defences with that power and explosive pace.

play a diamond midfield with masc holding and stevie in a more advanced role.

Play maxi on the right and give our boy kuyt a breather. Bring him in against chelsea at home and for the european games when maxi cant play.

Play yossi on the left, why the F**k have you dropped him? Apart from stevie hes the only player in the squad who can open up defences.

play agger left back. insua is out of his depth there at present. Hes costing us games. The lad is a huge prospect but he needs a long rest. Agger n carra are both awful in the air too, we have a couple of games coming up against yard dog hoof it up the field teams and we need a big massive greek in the middle to head everything out.

bring in the big massive ugly greek.

Get back to playing attacking line ups! When we were top of the league last season it was because we were playing with 2 strikers.

A Bit late in the day! but just go for it
      Play Aquliani, Sotis and Babel
and also have a gamble try playing Pacheco up front with Torres - Last 30 minutes of a game- Like you did against Fiorentina, see what happens.
Finally please please please do not have us finishing underneath the Bitter's that would be too much to take

fergie will get his 19th league cham, and prob 20th too, but you are much younger then him and I want to hold up a banner that reads

"LFC 25 SCUM 20...THANK YOU RAFA!"...just imagine it rafa. close your eyes, and just imagine it...

now imagine fergie drinking himself to sleep every night as a old bitter man seeing this.
now imagine all the glory hunting scum supporters putting their flags away and abandoning scum in their drones.
now imagine carragher headbutting rat boy in the face on his last home game against scum
now imagine stevie/reina lifting the trophy.
now imagine your goaty being sold on eBay for gazillion pounds.

      all this could be yours.

      stay.

I suppose their are those around who never look at the stats, if you did you would be pleasantly surprised to find Lucas up around the top for passing and tackling, although that isn't a strong point of Lucas, but my point is he has been one of our top performers this season, at the start a lot of us said he would now have to step up to the mark, now Alonso is gone, he's did a lot more than that. If I have a gripe with Rafa, I would like him to play Lucas in the position he played for Corinthians, an attacking midfielder and not a holding one. He is doing the job Rafa has asked of him, and he's doing it well from where I stand, now if only Gerrard can get himself sorted and do the same, we may not be in this position.

I dont understand how so many people put messages on of confidence and support but then in the same message practically teach him how to manage the team. Surely thats not right. I must admit I've had my worries about rafa, the biggest being does he have the players confidence. After a couple of players have come out and said there is no talking whatsoever when there is a problem - ok 2 of them are no longer here and hardly set the world alight when they were here.

People cannot say they have full support of rafa and then completely slag off all his tactics and formations etc.

I support Rafa and think that any manager would struggle with the conditions he has to work under. That doesn't mean I have to blindly agree with every decision he makes and partake in Neville-style boot-licking, though.

For the record, most of Lucas's passes have been forward, not sidewards, it's strange that so many are under this misconception about Lucas, so many are on his back for a fact that isn't true. I agree with some that if Lacas lack's anything it's creativity in the final third, that's not to say he couldn't do better, I believe he could, but he must be put further forward to get the maximum use out of Lucas, (just an opinion). The game not long ago against Lille gave us a glimpse of what Lucas can do in the opposing final third, he won a pen, one of his passes put in Torres for a goal, and when he plays there he looks much more effective, the holding position should be left to Mascha alone, he's quite capable, and Lucas should be used much further forward.

after that comment, im certain you haven't watched a LFC game this season.

Lucas does nothing but pass sideways or backwards, mascherano is even more creative than lucas. Lucas is nothing but a boring, 'keep it simple' type of player. Its fine when your winning 2-0 and want to keep hold of the ball, but when its 0-0 against burnley or someone with 15mins left, we need the ball to be passed forwards, lucas doesn't do it.

I agree he looks better in a more advanced role, away to stoke he really stood out for me. Gerrard was out the team due to injury I think and Lucas took on the more attacking role and its the best I've seen him play so far. I agree with you too that Lucas played well for the first 10-15mins against Lille when he played in that position too.

However, a 'glimpse' here and there and a handfull of good performances, for me, isn't good enough for a player thats started the vast majority of our games this season, probably over 90%. He is not, and never will be, good enough for LFC. He has improved from last season, no doubt about it, and he has in certain games played out his skin this season (not many though to be quite honest), but I'll also remind the lucas lovers of the games hes cost us due to silly free kicks in dangerous positions, giving the ball away in vital areas usually our own half, hes even scored own goals. I'm happy for him to sit on the bench and come in for Masc when hes injured or suspended, but thats about it. Personally, id prefer to move him on and hopefully some divvy club like everton will pay 10m for him which we could then bring in better quality.

Also bartman, if you want to ditch the two holding midfielders because you feel masc is more than comfortable of handling it on his own, then surely you would prefer aquilani alongside him and not lucas anyway? Therefore leaving lucas out the team.

Didn't mean to turn this into the lucas thread guys so sorry for that. Back on topic..

Personally I do not see it as making Lucas a Scapegoat, I look at the facts and the facts is our midfield is not creative and the only real difference in our midfield other than Maxi is Lucas.

Theres a difference to picking out a scapegoat and being honest about where our problem lies and our problem lies within playing Mascherano and Lucas in central midfield.

The contrast  between a side that contains a Gerrard/Mascherano,  Mascherano/Aquilani partnership, is poles apart from a Mascherano/Lucas pairing.

No one and I mean no one who considers themselves to be a Liverpool Fan wants Lucas Leiva to fail, I'm sure we would all want Lucas to be excelling in the role he plays, however that is not the case, so as with any other player it's fair to question his involvement in the side.

As for a message for Rafa lets see an attacking line up from now until the seasons end, were better than boring one dimensional football we have been suffering for the majority of the season, so lets attack from the get go and go and get some results.

Tony D'Amato: I don’t know what to say, really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives. All comes down to today, and either, we heal as a team, or we're gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play. Until we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And, we can stay here, get the sh*t kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time. Now I can't do it for ya, I'm too old. I look around, I see these young faces and I think, I mean, I've made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I, uh, I've pissed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who's ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know, when you get old, in life, things get taken from you. I mean, that's... that's... that's a part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losin' stuff. You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the F***ing difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I'm gonna have any life anymore it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys, that's all it is. Now, what are you gonna do?

Well it worked for Al Pacino

Get back to playing attacking line ups! When we were top of the league last season it was because we were playing with 2 strikers.

The more time we spend on the attack, the less time we spend defending!!

How much time did you spend watching us last season, Torres up front on his todd, Steven played behind him as an attacking midfielder, he does not play as a striker, however much Sky says he does!

Last season we had Keane and Torres up front, with Keane playing just behind.

And we weren't playing that well until we fu**ed Keane off.

I cannot believe that you posted that. 1561 passes made this season, and I'd be very surprised if 200 of them were forward, extremely surprised in fact. And just for the record, the majority of creative passes made by any player would actually be in the forward direction, to attack, you have to go forward, not backwards. Anyway, back on topic.

Rafa, please realise that Lucas is not the future of Liverpool Football Club, let it go and unleash The Little Prince. Now is not the time for caution, you have to accept that this season has been a failure and realise that a change has to be made if we are to progress as a club. If we are to miss out, then I'd rather see us go down fighting, like warriors!

aquilani holds the key to our season. He is THE missing link between midfield and attack. The lads only played 1 full game and he scored 1 set 1 up and got man o the match. If rafa does not play him i'm not sure i can defend his tactics any more.

Well with a face like that, I wouldn't be surprised if he pops into many Childrens Nightmares ;D

When i was over in January i seen him after the game with his family.  His little kid is a chip of the old block, absoloute double of him. Obviously we all hope this changes as the child gets older!

My message to Rafa today is get the lads to go for broke from the first whistle today and wipe the smile of that spud head pricks face. Then get a beachball and smother the c**t with it.

Hate steve bruce, i really do!

That would be some sight. :D

My message to Rafa would be let's finish this dreadful season on a high and that means attacking from the start. No more F***ing about.

Just win us the f***in league boss, This season has been a great learning curve lots of disappointments mixed with only one or two delights thus far, But you know better than most what is needed for next season, Yesterdays performance was further proof that you are the man for LFC and i beleive you will deliver the title we want so much, It's hard to explain why it has taken our lads so long to finally deliver a 90 mins that we fans can talk about with pride, And it goes without saying that you have been fantastic despite the non-interest and undermining of H & G and co from the boardroom, Like all fans i would love it if we won the Europa league and more importantly that coveted 4th spot, We all know that this season has been one disaster after another but we are also aware of the reasons why, I like your style Senor Benitez, your a born winner, And winning is part of our history, A marraige made in heaven some would say, I just know you won't let us fans down Rafa because you believe in loyalty and loyalty is another part of our family which we always regard in high esteem, I beleive next season will be a totally different scenario the Liverpool animal has been wounded and we all know the dangers of a wounded and very hungry animal,    IRWT.

Im with you Rafa, but you need to encourage more offensive football.  Best form of defence is going forward.
