      Premier League kits confusion

Well, I'm really confused with the material of the wordings and numbers used.

On TV, the names and number on the back of the kits looks like a plastic sort of material but jerseys I have have the furry older wordings.

So, which is real? The ones I own can't be fake if they're from the Stadium shops, can they?!

Neither are fake. Our club shop use the furry ones.

There are just two different versions. I'd imagine the plastic ones are used in the PL so it doesn't itch or irritate.

I prefer the furry ones. The plastic ones tend to peel off easier.

Thanks for clearing it up, paulrobbo. My Gerrard and Torres kits have the furry ones but I have seen people with kits of the plastic one.

Even the Fabregas top I bought from Emirates for my Arsenal friend back home has the furry one.

Whenever I've had numbering done I've had it done at an official store and it's always been the furry type.

One time years ago I got Cisse on the back done at JJB - that was plastic lettering.

Think it just depends on the team and what they prefer, nothing major in it.

I like the furry kind, it's easier and better looking on the eye.

Yeah, my manc mate went to England last season for a couple matches, and got his manc tops at their official store - and it was all plastic lettering. So it's just what the club prefers i think. Personally love that furry stuff though, looks boss.

The furry ones have been around for a long time, haven't they?

If I remember rightly, the plastic ones came recently. But surely you can't get 'fake' furry ones when you buy kits from the store at the stadiums.

The plastic one just peels off after a while.

The furry ones are not fake. There are just two different kinds. They use plastic ones on the players shirts to reduce weight. Every shirt I've order from our club shop has had the furry ones.
