      Torres to see specialist

      Torres to see knee specialist
Fernando Torres will see a specialist on Monday to assess the knee injury which kept him out of the 0-0 draw with Fulham.

Rafa Benitez told reporters: "He has a problem with his knee. He's gone to see a specialist and we are waiting for news.

"We don't know yet. It depends on what the specialist says tomorrow. He had a problem before and we were trying to protect him."

Hope it's nothing too serious - would be pretty harsh if he missed the Athletico game for the 2nd year on the bounce   :-[

The story shouldn't have been posted in his player thread. This is injury news - not about the players ability.

I hope to F**k that it's nothing serious at all! This is the knee that was operated on I think.

So what are we admitting to relying on Torres, his injuries should not need to be a topic on here. What about the other overpaid squad members, take some responsibility maybe?

Theres a rumour surfacing on another forum that suggests he may be out for the remainder of the season  :o  :f_doh:

So now we know why Rafa wanted to drag him off after 60 minutes last weekend!!

Injury news is injury news mate no matter what player it is. Agree entirely about overpaid squad members taking some responsibility though.

When a player goes to see a specialist, you know it's not just something he can 'run off' isn't it! I've got a bad feeling about this.

      Just depressing.

Especially in terms of the Europa League. He'll be F***ing gutted too.

Was thinking after him not playing today that he'd be used for just the Europa games, now thats looking less and less like that could happen. The only silver lining I can honestly see is that hopefully it will rule him out of the World Cup, I know that sounds cold, but in terms of LFC, it could be a blessing in disguise, the lad hasn't had a proper summers break in how long. A good little break in the summer could be a bonus.

      Oh, sorry Kenny

(I'll post my reply here then) I hope for the team and for Nando he plays in the Atletico match, and that's it's not going to keep him out of action

Nando's shitting out so he doesn't have to score past them.

I really don't like the sound of this. Last time he saw a specialist he ended up being operated on.

Ankle, hamstring, thigh, groin ... now the knee. How many more until our number 9 is completely fixed?

Perhaps he'll want to do his achilles in next? :-\

Honestly if he aint around for much of the rest of the season, then i dunno how we are going to go against Atletico. His presence just boosts our team, without it i just have not seen much good from us this season. But, keep my chin up anyways.

Just shows to our owners how much we need some more investment, Nando just can't get fit cos we rely on him too much!

Think this gives a little justification to Rafa last week as well. He could have played til 80 minutes, gone down injured, and been out for Benfica and we may not have gone through.

F**k im just shattered now though. This season has just been bad news, bad news, bad news it seems :(

:( Like everyone is saying it doesn't sound good, I hope he's ok.
It doesn't help that he gets kicked here, there and everywhere by defenders whenever he goes on the pitch, its the only way they can stop him by injuring him. Well its either that or Olalla is one rough b*tch.

I think Nando has needed an operation for a year and a half now, and I mean a major, major Op, it is not good for him to keep picking up slight knocks, which has been the case for the last year and a half, I would be shocked if he went to the world cup, a blow for him and spain and the neutrals out there, but F**k that right off, we pay his wages, we want him fit for the start of next season, time for a rest I think Nando.

If he wasn't such a key player, I think he would have been operated on and out for around 4-6 months. As it is, I think we have seen yesterday, just how much we need the fella.

Hope he is OK and I am wrong, but think this will spell the end for his season with us, and then hopefully for Spain. He has not had a rest in the summer for the last 2 years cos of the euros and the shitty confed cup, 3 years cos of the world cup is to far IMO, he will just be a wreck again for next season.

Get him sorted now, we will all see the benefits in the long run if we do.

Also, if he is injured over the summer, no f**ker will buy him. Mwhahahaha  :f_tongueincheek: :f_whistle:

He's probably done for the year I bet....it's seriously our luck. We haven't had any this year. Beach balls, Fabregas hand balls, clear penalty's, late minute goals. It seriously isn't our year.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was the case. Just hope he's unavailable for Spain aswell.
