Is anyone on here meeting for a pre/post match beer or five?

      Is that a rhetorical question?

Nice one Mike.  Any chance you can add it to your film about the owners?

That's the plan, be great also if Karen Gill speaks. Just gotta work out the logistics.

We'll sort something out this week coming. :)

Just over a week to go to this now. We need to push out of our minds whether we wanted a march, a rally or an organised Royal Rumble (with Tom, George and Purslow in the middle, heaven ;D) out of our minds.

It is a rally. That is what is happening and we need to be singing from the same hymn sheet. Forget SOS turning it into a membership drive, or a big f**k off advert for their new scheme, we know what we are there for.

To send a message to Hicks and Gillett.

We need to be a unified voice, not a group of different factions arguing amongst ourselves. If we all stick together then our voices will be stronger in unity.

      Independence Day - 4th July
The Spirit Of Shankly is holding an Independence Day Rally on Sunday 4th July at 12 noon on St George's Hall Plateau, to talk about plans for our independence from the American ownership of Tom Hicks and George Gillett. As fans grow increasingly angry at their lies and false promises, and the Club continues to lurch along, we will be talking about how we plan to ensure the Club's future.

The line up for the rally includes addresses by, Karen Gill - Bill Shankly's granddaughter  and Spirit Of Shankly patron, John Aldridge - Liverpool legend and Share Liverpool board member, Steve Rotheram - MP for Walton and former Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Neil Fitzmaurice - Actor and star of One Night in Istanbul, and Spirit Of Shankly representatives who will issue our Declaration of Independence. There will be live music from Ian McNabb (Icicle Works), John Power (Cast and The La's), Peter Hooton (The Farm), John O'Connell (Groundpig) and the Sons of Anfield.

The day is for everyone, of all generations, to come together and hear how we can protect our Club and its future. We will be talking about Supporter Ownership and how our plans for a Credit Union fit with these objectives. Ongoing discussions with Partner's Credit Union will seek to formalise a relationship allowing all members and fans, a protected, affordable way of saving and safeguarding their money, which can then be used to buy a share in any future takeover/share purchase plan. We are continuing discussions with Share Liverpool about how the two organisations can work together to truly ensure a united voice, speaking out on behalf of Liverpool supporters.

This is OUR club. This is OUR chance to make our feelings known. This is OUR Independence Day.  Make yourself heard and be there. Help save and protect our heritage, our history, our traditions and most of all our football club.

We can be 'true custodians'. For now and for future generations. It is OUR club - Not theirs!

SOS- fan ownership will not happen, rather focus on getting the yanks out, that being your sole priority! It is really unrealistic to keep pushing a supporter owned club...

SOS have jumped onto a good idea and tried to commercialise it for their own benefits, I still say SOS are bottlers and are more concerned with their public image than what the 4th July protest was originally intended for and for that reason I won't be attending.

Seriously though with SOS now spear heading the campaign I feel we'd have more sucess hugging tree's.

They've had the opportunity to make a firm stand against Hicks & Gillett, yet always come up looking like they're looking after their own interests.

I'm still getting splinters in my arse on the fence up to now. They have some good ideas, but ultimately they never want to piss anyone off.

I supprised they went for a full ownership approach, its all well and good until you ask people for the money, then it goes belly up. I wish they had just stuck to mission objective - get Hicks and Gillett out NOW

To be honest I'd prefer a new wealthy owner rather than this idea, I don't think SOS should be favouring it.

Just seen on facebook that SOS, if allowed, will be selling their own t-shirts on the day.

Seriously, this is quickly becoming an SOS day with very little attention being put on the original idea. Actually, the way it's turning out could put a great deal of Reds off attending.

To be honest that's why I'm not attending, I was all up for it when it was a "Fans Protest", now to me it's turned into an SOS open day to recruit to new members, I'm no longer interested, Surprised they are not charging a tenner on the gate and handing out SOS Membership numbers on Entry.

Is right Joey, they have become the inept political wing of the protest,a luxury we can't afford. We need direct action, not supplied by them,so if they take over the 4th July protest,I'm out.

I think whether it is SOS or not leading the protest everyone should go, in fairness without the SOS there have been F**k all done against the yanks in the last couple of years.

I know what they have done has not worked as of yet but least it has made people aware of our plight. I don't see anyone else organising anything.

It is grand for us on the internet saying what should be done. At least they are putting some of the ideas into action, no one else is.

What I did was to sell my home and business,so that I could be in travelling distance to the protest. For 3 years i have not attended a game, but have been on most protests.I travel 200 miles to attend each one ,I give up work to attend.I have supported this club for 45 years,I was at Hillsborough and Hysel and Rome.I'm on the internet also, you question my support?
