Rafa is too good for this league in reality.
The bar codes will walk the title.
In fairness I see it as a sign of the potential that Rafa see's in them, he all but knew they were going down when he joined them. He had two options, a get out clause if they were relegated or see it through... Irregardless of what you think of his time at Real Madrid, he would have had plenty of options besides a championship side, he has to see something in that project that made him risk it all. Fail at Madrid and you're still a top manager, fail at Newcastle in the Championship and you are really struggling...
The likes of Dwight Gayle is a Premier League signing, combined with the squad he has kept hold of, I think there is quite a bit of preparation going into next season!
Also I said this in more detail in the EFL Cup thread, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them do quite well in that competition. They have a Premier League squad in the Championship, if the games fall right for them they could be genuine contenders for the cup. Let's be honest, who wants to come up against Rafa in knockout football, or over two legs!?
