First I wanted Uruguay to go out early in the competition.
But I think it's been amazing to see them reborn as a football team, bringing back a tradition that gave them 2 World Cups in the past. It's been so long since they reached a World Cup semifinals. It's true they had luck on their way to this game, but it's still very nice.
Anyway, it's gonna be pretty hard for them as they won't have a few key players, like Suarez and Fucile. Their midfield lacks creativity so Forlan has to come back a lot, and Suarez was being very important to score the goals upfront. I think Cavani will have to play much better than he's been playing in the last few games if Uruguay is going to have a chance.
They've done the impossible before though, I think the Dutch will win this one but if Uruguay gets through, it's gonna be one of these special moments for La Celeste. It's funny considering how big the Brazil v Uruguay rivalry once was, but everyone is so surprised about Uruguay reaching the semifinals, that a lot of Brazilians want them to lift the trophy now.
I wouldn't mind Holland winning this WC though, I just would have liked a Dutch team that played better football to do so, instead of the current one. For a lot of people, it's probably going to be seen as the win of pragmatic football against the brilliant, attacking sides they had in the past but couldn't win anything.
I'm looking forward to see a new final and possibly a new champion. If Spain beat Germany in the other semifinal, it's gonna be the first final without Brazil, Argentina, Italy or Germany in the history of the World Cups. That would be something.
