1 of 4 Great players need.

Today we had a very nice news. As Liverpool players said that we need 4 new talented player especially Gerrard & Torres had said.

With Cole we had slotted one of those places. As Roy said yesterday that he is looking for a left-back. Now we need a brilliant left-back like Taiwo or Cissoko or Warnock. And that will be two place slotted. Out of subject we also need a back-up for one of them like Figuera.

Two places will be left open for any transfer. With Milan's transfer it could be the third slotted but time will tell for this (I think it will).

This leaves us  little short with one place open, it could be Torres's place if he stay fully fit all season.

I would count Aquilani as one of those players, since he didn't feature much last season. He'll be like a new signing.

So if we only buy a talented left-back, two slots can be filled with either Milan develop in a good transfer or for both Torres & Aquilani if stays fit.

He barely featured for half a season- he was a foreign player, in a new club, with new people, learning a new language with a new way of life- he was finding his feet.
This season we will see what he is made of.

Lucas 4/4.

Lucas 4/4 . Degen 4/4 herd he cant play left back and it looks like Roy gets on with him maybe our new left back.

I wouldn't count Jovanovic as one of the quality players we need but could certainly help to the depth of the squad we badly need.

Looks like with Cole & Jovanavich on board- we may have a decent looking bench!

Not that brilliant , that why I wrote him third but he is very decent left-back.

We need a striker, left back and a replacement for Masch if he goes. If we get all three and I mean good players not Paul Scharner etc we might actually have a decent season.

Kuyt on bench ? I think that he is very good player and he shouldnt be on the bench. He worked well at World Cup and i think that he was one of best players in Netherlands team.

i dont think kuyt should be on the bench ! he is a really good player with great skills. he should start

Depends to be honest, if we sign remy then maybe he will be our new saviour for our striker problems, all depends if we can come up with the money. If insua agrees personal terms aswell. Then we will need to find a backup as we have plenty of CBs why not play agger on the left again?

Its either going to be Kuyt or Maxi then . unless roy fits them all in somehow . ? Warnock became a good player when he was showing the exit at anfield .

I'd have to agree with this. Cole's best position is behind the striker so we still need to strengthen down the left hand side and have support for Torres.

Jovanovic may be what we need for the left of midfield, but I would like to see Riera and/or Babel out and a proper winger brought in for competition. A young developed striker to take pressure off Torres is also badly needed.

Then again I doubt there is that many free transfers left but when Masch leaves that will give us some funds to spend.

We should play with 3 defenders. Johnson allways attacks and Insua wasn't the best player at defending, so it usually was up to the 2 defenders and Masch to defend. Buying a good center defender would cost less than buying a good left back, too.

Maxi/Kuyt/Jovanovic can play more on the wings, not the center. That would give a bit of width, and knowing that Jovanovic is technical and fast, Kuyt is allways running ,Maxi is technical and we have Torres, we should be able to destroy allmost every defence. And there would be players like Gerrard, Aquilani and Cole in the middle.

And if Masch doesn't leave, we can play something like 3-5-2. If he leaves, we (hopefully) have at least 10 million more to spend on players.

It's a good problem to have to see how we are going to set up now. I can see Stevie dropping back into the middle, and playing in that Alonso role of a few seasons back, Cole playing behind the striker, Jovanovic on the left, and Maxi on the right against weaker opposition, against the bigger teams I can see Kuyt playing.

All provided that Roy uses the same formation as we have for the last few seasons, but we'll see how it goes.

A left back is going to be a must now aswell, and either a back up striker or a left winger, depending on where Roy see's Jovanovic fitting in. And we're probably going to need to bring in two left backs, or a CB if we also use Agger as a LB.

So we're still a long way short of what we need for next season!!
