4th is a very tall order. I only just discovered that Chelsea have a game in hand over us.

So if we beat them, it's 6 points having played a game more. But the way it will lift the team at the same time as providing a swift kick in the nuts to Chelsea. I mean, it would certainly destroy any faint hopes they'd have of winning the title.

      We're only 2 points from 6th now.

      #        P   GD   PTS
      1   Man Utd   24   32   54
      2   Arsenal   24   27   49
      3   Man City   25   17   46
      4   Chelsea   24   25   44
      5   Tottenham   24   7   41
      6   Sunderland   25   2   37
      7   Liverpool   25   2   35

Once we catch Sunderland, we can look at at Spurs and Chelsea.

If we have a strong run to finish the season I'm certain we'll catch 1 of them to finish 5th. Probably Spurs. Depending on how Chelsea play between now and the end of the season, as don't forget, they've also got a new-look team to get used to.

      Alot of ifs and buts.

      Nevertheless, possible.

If I had to bet, i'd say 5th.

We've left ourselfs so much to do with our early season form that 6th looks most likely

However win Sunday and we are only 6 off Chelsea. And based on the results this season who knows? 4th for me is still a maybe.

Really..given the start we had and the whole Woyston phiasco in general, any improvement on last season would be amazing! I'd love to see us get fourth..but really anything above 7th would be quite an achievement for Kenny considering the start we had!!

Apart from that loss at  Blackpool ;). Anyway I think with abit of luck we can get 4th.

I think we also have the handicap this season of "having" to take the wafer cup seriously. Five years without a cup would be unthinkable. Last season I saw the wafer league as an irrelevance till the latter stages, this season we need something to show we are still a force to be reckoned with and wouldn't it be nice to celebrate winning something again. Not sure we have the squad to cope with challenging for 4th AND playing our strongest team in the cup.

4th is achievable, 5th is probably more realistic (and my tip since the start :D)

Why is the 'Wafer Cup' an handicap ? it's the first European Trophy we won please don't treat it as second rate you remind me of the mancs not entering the F.A.Cup ! no offence meant. but any trophy is worth winning if we enter it.
The Premiership is our bread and butter we can only do our best against whatever's put in front of us !

It's a handicap because it means we have to play more games, more chance of injuries, tired players etc etc.

I DID SAY......... "this season we need something to show we are still a force to be reckoned with and wouldn't it be nice to celebrate winning something again".

BTW I did go to the first wafa cup final we won (well I went the first night when it was abandoned after 20mins )

they didnt even look good against Notts County

      you never know *shrug*

anyways id be fine with 6th place and winning the EL

6th place is now where I think we will finish, perhaps 5th but we need a bit of luck...

Where can we finish, 4th is where we could. Once Man Utd lose a game they will buckle - and hard. They really arent that good and could have a bit of a wobble (still finish top 3 but a wobble none the less) seeing them slide. Tottenham are becoming a bit worse as time goes on, and I can see them taking a few losses when the CL comes back around. The Chavs are still low on confidence - if we beat them on the weekend they could continue to play badly, having to plays Man Utd twice (2 draws perhaps?) they could easily go down the table. City are good and with nothing to play for really they will go at the league - beating the top 5 teams at the moment will allow us to close a gap on the others. Arsenal will be same old same old, 2nd is where I think they will end up.

Its not crazy to think the league could end up

      Man City
      Arsenal
      Man Utd
      Liverpool
      Chelsea
      Tottenham

Now wouldnt that be the best ending to our worse season in modern times!

      Think the league will finish

      1. United
      2. Arsenal
      3. Chelsea
      4. City
      5. Tottenham
      6. Liverpool

Realistic as it gets. We have a chance of top 4 but we need to get 30 points out of the next 39 points to stand a chance.

You think that many? I would say another 25 points could get us there even with the defecit. Our run in is a lot kinder than many of the others!

And United top - tut tut

if you do a average points calculation for this season... getting into top 4 requires more than 63pts. after the stroke game.. we have 13 games to go and if we took 3 points this Sunday.. climbling up to 4th is not a miracle anymore since we will be 6pts away with 12 games left. i will be risking everything on Sunday game to take the 3pts no matter what it takes!

We have 35 points currently. Last year Tottenham got 4th with 70 points, of course it'll be less this year but I think 65 points will get 4th. 60 probably won't, maybe 63 points, possibly.

if we can take 18 points in the remaining 6 home games and at least 3 wins on away games especially against teams sitting above us.. we have a decent chance climbling to 4th.

If we beat the chavs on Sunday, get Caroll fit and firing with suarez I honestly think we can pinch 4th.

They've still got all the big games, except united. Chelsea have to play United twice.
