That's exactly the point I made mate. He wanted to leave because he thought he was too good to be a squad player but that's all he was for Spurs mostly. Now he wants to move back because Redknapp doesn't want him. We wasn't good enough for him the first time!!

I too think the same mates, he betrayed to Rafa and Liverpool who trusted in him. But anyway if he return back to LFC then I've no choice and happy to support him as our player.

Arda is way way better than all of those names... If you add all their skills into 1 player, still can not compete with Arda...

Obviously we need another striker. But if Roy cannot get in who he wants I would rather us wait until he can instead of wasting money. With Torres, Kuyt, Pacheco, Babel, Ngog and Jovanovic we should have enough to get us through to January when hopefully funds will be available for Roy to get who he wants. If not then next summer. We have to build slowly so only buying players who will improve us is imperitive. No more stop-gaps please!

By "stop-gaps" i take it you mean the likes of Aurelio, Luke Young and Poulsen?

Actually there are 2 c***s burning our money. Aurelio technically was an improvement on what we had as we had nothing. We have not signed Luke Young have we? Poulsen is no better than Lucas for me, and Im not a Lucas fan, so I do not want Poulsen. Jan Molby said his best days are behind him.

When we were winning everything we only signed players who were better than what we had. Or we signed a player and put him in the reserves while he learned the 'Liverpool Way'. I would rather us use our academy rather than bring the likes of Poulsen in. We have Shelvey too and he has alot of talent!

No but "we" did try to Don and at 31 he would have been, without doubt, a "stop-gap".

If he does come, one can only assume that it will only because, (at this time), we can't afford better and or younger. So again; "stop-gap".

I'm afraid, just like his predecessor, at the moment Roy (when it comes to spending) has to shop at "Stop-Gaps R Us". Let's hope it doesn't last tho'; recent history tells us that the media can be very cruel when it comes to a high turn-over of "stop-gaps" and some people buy into their sh*t.

Well if he does not have the money, I would rather us sign nobody, which was my original point. I see where you are coming from and I think you get what I mean as well. I like Shelvey, and also Wilson. We have some good talent in the reserves also. It will be worth investing time and effort in these young lads in the long run, much more than spending 5m plus on players like Poulsen!

I think the Mascherano money will go on a striker. Anybody got any suggestions that are realistic? Or should be wait until we have more funds and rely on Jovanovic, Ngog, Kuyt, babel and Pacheco to help Torres?

Well we will have to see won't we. From what I have seen of Poulsen, he is not as good as Lucas, as I said previously. IMO Lucas is not very good either. But with a new manager, new ideas etc lets see what happens. Really looking forward to Sunday!

1: Joey Cole
2: Milan Jova
3: Poulsen

4: I would consider Aquliani as a new signing as he was injured & only played half a season whilst still adjusting to his new life.
5: Wilson also- he may not be world-class but he is young & talented.

Clutching at straws there!! He said we need 4 or 5 'quality additions'. I wouldn't class Wilson or Poulson as a quality addition. Wilson is one for the future and will hopefully develop into a top player for us, but I get the impression Torres was talking about the here and now. Poulson I don't rate, although he has played for top clubs, so he must have something about him. But the fact that we are replacing a far superior player in Masch with Poulson, is a step backwards IMO.

Also, considering Torres said this last season (?) when Aquilani was already here, then I doubt he was including him in that!! No arguing with Joey and Milan though.

But i think he's looking for and English striker to play back up. To be honest, i can't think of any Englishmen i want. Llorente from Athletic would be brilliant because he's like Crouchy but a bit more mobile and quicker and can head a ball better.
