Not sure about his lad.  Didn't seem anything special.  Can he deal with hoofed balls or something?

"At this moment it is unlikely Ricky will move because I have not received an concrete offer from either Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool." Louis Laros explained to Sport.co.uk.

"I cannot say at the moment if it is serious interest, an enquiry, or just rumours. We are waiting for calls from both clubs, as we need an official offer from Liverpool or Spurs to proceed."

So in fact his agent can confirm sh*t! What a F***ing load of bollocks

Another Jova? Maybe it's me, but where's the resemblance? He's 8 years younger than him.

Personally I'd go for Luc Castaignos instead. He's cheaper, younger, more talented, taller, faster, will be stronger and will definitely be a much better striker. Feyenoord actually want to get rid of him on the cheap because they're in major debt.
Yeah I heard he's a terrific talent and was compared to Thierry Henry. Get him please Comolli.

According to 'Givemefootball' Spurs are also in the running for this fella. If we want him we need to act fast. C.L.footy and all that.

€10m Dutch ace to be King Kenny's 'first signing'
Ricky van Wolfswinkel will be the 'first signing' of the new Kenny Dalglish reign at Anfield, according to Metro.

The FC Utrecht frontman is one of the hottest prospects in Dutch football and has hit the ground running this year with 11 strikes in 17 starts; adding to his tally of 10 goals last season in his debut campaign at the Stadion Galgenwaard.

It had initially been reported by talkSPORT last month that Liverpool had made a formal bid for the 21-year-old and now Metro suggests that, despite competition from Napoli, a deal could soon be concluded.

During his brief tenure at Liverpool, Roy Hodgson was adamant the club needed to bring in attacking reinforcements during the January transfer window and Reds owners New England Sports Ventures look likely to heed his advice - albeit too late for the former Fulham boss.

Van Wolfswinkel would certainly provide Liverpool with the added potency they so crave in the pursuit of Premier League salvation and could make for a dynamic partner for Anfield star Fernando Torres.

The Spaniard has failed to hit the previous heights he enjoyed with Liverpool in the seasons preceding this and is likely to benefit from having the goalscoring burden removed from his shoulders.

But temporary Liverpool boss Dalglish believes the 26-year-old will soon be back to his sensational best.

"Fernando Torres has got a magic wand. We have great aims to build on and it is up to us to get him going," said Dalglish after Liverpool lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup.

"He wants to do it, you can see he wants to do it, and we'll get him going sooner rather than later."

Oh come on. Wrap this up. I'd even take Carlton effing Cole as long as I know the King wants him. Just want new players to keep the hype.

Carlton Cole is a s**te player no matter who buys him mate!

On Van Wolfswinkel I haven't seen much of him so can't comment but goal record is very good albeit in a weak league.

Completely agree, not tried and tested yet and we need firepower.

Scored a good hatrick vs celtic but havent see too much more, was pretty poor vs us.

What price is floating about in this sea of rumour?

I think the extra six to ten million would definitely be worth it, more international experience since Van Wolfswinkel's only just been capped this year and more games in the Eredivise with a lot more goals too. He's obviously a better all round player as well as just being much more proven by reputation. Think this one would be much more of a gamble whereas Suarez has been on many of the top clubs radars for a couple of years now. On the rare occasion I've seen Van Wolfswinkel he just looks like someone who get's on the end of things rather than being an all round forward.

Dalglish confirmed in "Next Van Basten" chase
      15th Mar 2011 - Transfer Gossip

Sport.co.uk can confirm that FC Utrecht striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel is a summer transfer target for Newcastle United and Liverpool according to player's representative. While Tottenham Hotspur are also rumoured to be monitoring the Dutch starlet.

Van Wolfswinkel, 22, has just returned from injury regaining his place in the first team, and the Dutchman looks set for a summer transfer tug of war with Alan Pardew, Kenny Dalglish and Harry Redknapp all considering summer moves for the forward.

The player's agent confirmed to Sport.co.uk that Liverpool and Newcastle United were looking at the player, while Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be keeping an eye on proceedings.

"There is nothing in place yet regarding a transfer for Ricky (Van Wolfswinkel). At this moment there is no update. He has returned to action and has scored a couple of times, and is coming back well from injury." Louis Laros told Sport.co.uk.

"We are still working towards a move this summer but I have nothing finalised yet.

The player's representative revealed he was informed that Newcastle Untied and Liverpool would continue to monitor the player until the end of the season. He said:

"I have not spoken to either club in the past three weeks. In the winter break both clubs told me they would follow him and keep an eye on him. In the next coming months we will see, so I will wait for contact.

"If there was the possibility of the Premier League Ricky would love it. But obviously we must respect the club and what they want to do in the summer. Ricky is still young and he wants to better himself, so if a club offers him a deal he will look at it. But it depends on the club, the manager, and the ambitions of the club."

Van Wolfswinkel, a regular starter for the Dutch under-21s was recently capped at full international level and is regarded as one of Europe's hottest young talents having been closely watched by the continent's top clubs since making his debut for Vitesse Arnhem in 2008.

The hitman has since moved to FC Utrecht where he has established himself as the club's leading front-man and helped them to a seventh place Eredivisie finish. The striker has scored 17 goals in his last 24 appearances in all competitions.

Liverpool's new Director of Football Strategy Damien Comolli highlighted the Dutchman as a great prospect for the future, while Newcastle United have also been confirmed as monitoring the striker since Chris Hughton was manager.

Current Newcastle United incumbent Pardew has a transfer chest of £35 million from Andy Carroll's January move to Liverpool and the FC Utrecht striker, nicknamed, "the next Van Basten" is a possible replacement for the English centre-forward.

Spurs boss Redknapp is a big admirer of the forward having sent regular scouts to watch van Wolfswinkel but looks to be playing second fiddle in the pursuit of the forward with the reds and Toon army leading the chase for the talented Dutch starlet.

The agents are certainly getting warmed up for the summer bonus ;D

I'd pass on him now that Hodgson is no longer our manager, hearing Kenny say his name won't make me giggle in the slightest.  While we're on the subject of Dutch players, a HUGE NO to Dzsudzsak from PSV purely because I always have to open a new window to check I've spelled his name correctly and it's getting annoying.

I can't believe I never picked up on that, was doing my head in constantly opening a new tab to guess how his name is spelled until google finally asks me "did you mean Balazs Dzsudzsak" - this has saved me much trouble and I thank you.  No longer care if we buy him now :D

Don't think he's too lightweight corbally, not for his age. But yeah, don't think he'd be that great of a signing. And to compare him with Van Basten is just silly. He isn't even a similar type striker. Don't even think he's the best future striker for my country. Much more impressed with Luuk de Jong, 2 years younger and a much better allround player and striker. Very versatile player, can play on the wing or in the hole aswell. Will cost about the same aswell.

Made 2 headers against Zenit last week aswell:
      Twente - Zenit (3:0)

That cross to his 2nd header goal is brilliant though, brilliant pass. Mihaylov making a good save there aswell.
