I have got more faith in NESV because a thorough check has been conducted by the club and the premier league ,when Moores and Parry signed this club over to the carpetbaggers the pair of pricks didn't even do a simple google check which would have saved all the heartache we have suffered .

      If they get in, delighted.

      If not, distraught.

Portsmouth and Leeds couldnt pay their creditors so went into Administration, we can pay so as someone has already mentioned the premier league have said no points will be deducted. How can anyone make a judgement on our new owners as they havent even concluded the deal. Be sceptical by all means but anything other than that is not very welcoming is it especially as they could be the answer to our prayers.

I'm pretty happy now that Hicks and Gillette are gone , and I;m happy the new owners are from New England ( my home) . But I;m not getting too exited yet I want to see do with and what results come up on the pitch , and some proper investment . I am pretty happy with their previous sports teams ( Patriots and Red Sox  ) which are very successful teams .

"Liverpool are likely to face a nine-point deduction if its parent company Kop Holdings goes into administration next week, BBC Sport understands.

League rules say a points deduction can be used if a parent company insolvency is caused by the club's management.

Sources suggest owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett would struggle to argue that the running of the football club had not affected the holding company.

Liverpool could enter administration if a sale is not agreed by 15 October. "

It appears that we are heading for -3 points and bottom of the league.

Well they can't do no worse than this can they ?

paul_tomkins Been told that #LFC spent £151,915,000 on transfers during Gillett and Hicks reign and recouped £142,325,000.”

That should dispel a sh*te load of myths then

You cant go stating facts like that it will not fit with Sky or the Rafa bashers who want to believe Rafa spent £50 million every year.

Not so mate, Dan Roan from the BBC saying that we may well now face a 9 point deduction if Kop Holdings goes insolvent.

Seems that we didn't have something in place with the Premier League after all.

No way! Did the premier league not assure this was not a runner as the club itself is making money can pay wages etc its only when a club becomes insolvent the administration comes into play and the 9 point penalty?

If concerns about them stem from their country of origin, then it's a bit of a shallow subjectivity to form those assumptions on.

Once bitten twice shy maybe the order of the day but not because their flag carries the same stars and stripes as Mrs Hicks & Gilete does.

They have an excellent business record.
All of the 17 principals involved.

Hicks and Gillett didnt and havent.

I hate to ask it but when is Moores going to put his hand in his pocket and make a donation for the sh*te he has put this club through. Thats the least the man (?) could do.

I would say i'm quite looking forwards to this prospective takeover....

‘John Henry will take Liverpool FC back to the top’
      http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2010/10/08/john-henry-will-take-liverpool-fc-back-to-the-top-says-close-associate-of-the-lead-investor-100252-27427767/

LIVERPOOL FC’S prospective new owners will take the club back to winning ways within three years, a close associate of the lead investor has claimed.

John Damgard, president of the Futures Industry Association and a guest at Henry’s wedding last summer said John Henry, principal owner of New England Sports Ventures (NESV), will be a hit with the fans.

Born in Quincy, Illinois, Henry, who built his fortune as a futures trader, has loved baseball since childhood, crunching stats for his boyhood favourite St. Louis Cardinals.

“His love of numbers came from his fascination with baseball,” said Damgard, who claimed Henry will take Liverpool into the toast of English football within three years.

Although he does not relish talking to the media, Henry is not slow to interact with the fans.

“I love to listen to and interact with fans,” Henry said in a rare comment on the Red Sox media guide. “Perhaps not every fan can identify with me, but I think I can identify with most of them.”

Henry held a minority stake in the New York Yankees and owned the Florida Marlins before leading a group that purchased the Red Sox in 2002 for a then league-record $700m.

Two years later, the Sox won their first title in 86 years, breaking a storied curse fans said had haunted the team due to its sale of baseball great Babe Ruth to the rival Yankees after a World Series title in 1918. Another championship was won in 2007.

That kind of success will carry across the Atlantic, Robert Reynolds, chief executive of Putnam Investments, said at an event in Boston to announce a sports sponsorship.

He said: “The skill set you need to run a professional sports franchise, whether it’s soccer, football or baseball, is the same.”

Henry came by his skills early. After a stint at the Las Vegas casinos at the blackjack tables, he became interested in analysing futures markets when he inherited the family farm at age 26.

He developed his firm’s trends-following algorithms and rode them to great success.

In a 2009 profile, Boston Magazine described Henry as “often up until 3 am, checking the Japanese markets, strategising with Sox GM Theo Epstein, or playing with his iRacing simulator, which mimics the cars of his Roush Fenway NASCAR team.”

It is that focus to detail that has made Henry and his partners successful, said Randy Vataha, president of sport investment bank Game Plan llc.

“They’ve done as good a job in professional sports as anybody has ever done.

“They took the Red Sox, certainly a good franchise, and made it into a real business, plus more competitive and professional.”

NESV not only owns the Red Sox, valued at $840m, but its historic home field of Fenway Park.

Part of my enthusiasm comes from the monetary amounts i've highlighted, to me it shows he's not afraid to put his money where his mouth is when he wants something. Ontop of that, $140million in value has been added to the Red Sox since he took over. A good businessman if ever there was one.

They might be alright and judgement is hard at this stage.  But I still think these are not the best owners.   Like Carra said we should have been a  little more calculative, we hardly time to blink.  Hick's dream figures must have something to do with  some  wealthy interest.  Someone that can pump money into the squad, not a silly amount, but nevertheless a figure that will allow us to bridge the gap of the last three seasons.

They seem to have got it right with the boston red sox but i dont think it will be big cash from the onset. There will be investment but it will be gradual over a number of seasons. I think they are looking at us as being a business venture. We have massive money making potential around the world. I think if our manager says, year on year, that he needs to strengthen then he will have money to spend but not in the same vien as Man City. TBH we do need to strengthen the squad but we dont have to go out and buy a whole new team like City have. They are looking into the stadium and to decide what the best option would be, which makes sence, 15,000 more seats means extra revenue. So if the deal goes through i think the future looks bright but i think they will expect us to run it as a business and not look for hand outs from them all the time. I think they will want us to become self sufficient and eventually making them a profit.

Can't really say if I like them or not, because I don't know them personally.

Do they make happy? As long as they are true to their word, and bring this club back to where it belongs, then yes!

Im going to approach this with cautious scepticism, because they dont own us yet.

I dont know why H&G are going to court to fight over teh club, yes they will lose 140 million, but they could spend £1.50 on a euromillions ticket and get it back, plus 72 million extra  :f_whistle:  :f_whistle:

I read somewhere yesterday, in an article detailing the finer points of the takeover deal, that "most of the debt will be cleared and Liverpool will only be paying about £2m per year in interest charges".

What do we read into that??
