Instead of all this squabbling over a loan, how about enjoying that for the moment at least, we haven't got owners who are trying to ruin us and saddle us with as much debt as they possibly can.

      Just a thought like...

But the loan will be repaid at the owners convenience without compromising the squad.

There are no external pressure into repaying it back.

      That's the beauty.

But it is still debt mate not a gift...... that is my point.

We have total DEBT of £114million ..... not £45million external debt and a gift of £69million .... total debt of £114million.

I have no argument that the £69million is on favourable terms and will probably save us £2million or so in interest this season. But it is debt not a gift.

Abromovich has given Chelsea plenty of Director loans which the club will have to pay back once he decides to sell in all honesty which I dont think he ever will.

circumstances change if you spent it you owe it. the point is we have spent it and spending in the region of £45mil on Stadium projects that haven't done so much as put a spade in the ground just looks like a terrible waste of money on the clubs behalf.

Maybe the positive point to take from the last few years is that we are resorting to slating the ownership for not being locals, having no emotional connection to the club and it's supporters and for providing a loan that they'll want to recoup at some point.

It could be A LOT worse I suppose.

Frankly don't even know why this thread gets so much traffic....as long as the team on the field is winning games and the club is growing and progressing in the right ways, I couldn't care less if the owners ever get talked about positively or negatively.

I've sort of ended up here now mate, too.

The stadium is getting work done on it and we aren't moving from Anfield.

We've a manager that very nearly won us that elusive Premier League title and is determined to go one better this time around.

We have Champion's League football back at Anfield.

We've got the strongest squad that we've had for a long time.

Ian Ayre has even done well this Summer.

Now I can moan about certain players that I don't rate, but I'd be doing that whoever the manager was, that's just forum life.

I'm just done with talking about owners now. There's positivity all around the club at the moment - we play great stuff. Beautiful, attacking football.

Maybe the squad has only been strengthened because of the freak amount spent on Luis but until the next window, presuming nobody buys another of our players for another huge sum of money, I don't know if these owners would take a risk in the market. By that I mean by spending decent sums when it is needed for us to step on at home and in Europe and without any buy to sell type policy.

Right now though I'm comfortable that they aren't out to screw us, I've come to like, trust and feel comfortable with the capabilities of the manager that they brought in and I'm comfortable with the way we have gone about our business so far to provide us with depth for the coming season.

Progress has been made on the field without leaving us financially insecure and while those two factors keep walking hand in hand I'm not going to be one to moan about the way our club is being run.

They're the two most important factors, everything else comes from them for me.

A very fair point and for me they have done a good job over the lasy year or so.

Personally though I don't think they need to be praised for doing the very job that they should be doing and I prefer to focus my praise on the football side of things as far as the club goes.

Having said that though FSG did appoint Brendan and it was a brave move and one that seems to have paid off.

They also seem to have got him the players he wanted this summer and it's all I ask of any owner so this added to the movement on the stadium means all is well right now where FSG are concerned.

Just don't expect me in here every day or so gushing with praise for stuff I expect of them as a matter of course. ;)

Although FSG have lost out on potential interest that they could have earned by granting Liverpool an interest free loan.

Encouraging start to the season without Suarez; I would say we have been as good as anyone apart from Chelsea on the evidence of our matches so far.

It will be interesting to see our strategy in the upcoming transfer window - despite our spending I suspect we still have a card up our sleeve depending on how the season goes.

Nevertheless, it's nice to see the owners have served a large cold glass of shut-the-f**k-up to the usual moaners. Do enjoy your drink boys :)

More than Man City and Chelsea - our two nearest rivals (despite us not yet having Champion's League income) and less than Man United.

£30 million I think (£115 mill spent - £75 mill for Suarez) which would mean we spent about half the original transfer budget for this Summer. Hopefully we have some left in the kitty for Jan.

Not even £30M mate. People seem to think the Lallana fee was £25mill up front or whatever but have only paid 18.

I know the later arguments talk about lower fees for Lallana but do we really think Barcelona paid us 75m up front?

DON'T WE HAVE TO PAY TAXES ON THE SUAREZ DEAL.   Which would be at least 10m or are we operating from Dubai!
