What do you think it means ? It means that some players cost more than what they are worth.

So if the right player is "too expensive" [for FSG] we pass? Hopefully not this time. Hopefully JĂźrgen is backed to get who he needs and the owners stump up.

Your twisting yourself around in all sorts of scenarios

If it’s the player that Klopp wants and then there is no doubt they will work to get the player to the club - but they will of course be sensible about it and not pay over the odds and there is no doubt Klopp would be behind that - Werner was the perfect example

The scenario is pretty straightforward. We need a midfielder, ideally two. We've left our business very late. But lets try and get some quality in before the window closes.

Not as simple as that though is it . By the time these 2 midfielders get up to speed and understand the Klopp way 3 midfielders probably back which means likes of Elliott and others won't even make bench.  Only way someone comes if someone goes

Let's get this straight, we are up sh*t creek  not because the manager is lacking in an ability to identify suitable players for whatever role but a lack of financial backing to materialise said players.
JĂźrgen Klopp has dropped enough hints, diplomatically of course as to who is lacking in sincerity.

it is as simple as you want to make it or as difficult as you need to make it appear. There must be hundreds no thousands of Clubs in this world are we saying we cant find one player who fits the bill.

We also paid nearly 70M for Ally, which I think was a record for a keeper at the time [as was the fee for VVD a record for a CB]
      Too expensive?  Not in hindsight.

at times there are two valuations the market value and how much is it worth to the club in the long run as in Virgil and Ali and look how good investment they turned out to be.

ÂŁ66mil for him - it was the right player and at the right price for the club and manager , same with VVD and indeed any player coming in

The Werner and Jota transfers should point to the club ensuring they spend the right money for the right player

We then signed no one, apart from Van Den Berg, the following summer and we got told "there's bills to pay". Fsg made sure the boss ended up with ÂŁ20 odd mil net spend don't you worry about that

We won the league. Imagine if we built our squad that summer instead of taking a year off. Great teams add to already great teams. They don't take summers off. We've not won it since. Maybe if we built, on what was an already great squad, 2020-21 would have been a lot differen't. Maybe our squad would be in a differen't position now.

Anyway the discussion was about money and I am merely pointing out that signing Ali and VVD came at a cost the following window.

I didn't complain about it. I pointed out that signing them meant we weren't allowed to spend the following summer. It's facts.

When Klopp said "we can't sign no one we havr bills to pay".

When it was happening to Wenger we were all saying he isn't getting a fair shot from his owners and is working miracles to stay in the top 4. When it's Klopp you're giving it "Klopp wanted to pay bills and not sign anyone".

I won't do this anymore with you. You don't stop.

'We have to pay bills' - Klopp not jealous of 'fantasia land' spending from rivals

      GOALJul 28, 2019 01:08+02:00

      TransfersLiverpoolNapoli Club FriendliesLiverpool vs Napoli

The Reds boss isn't worried about the hefty sums being thrown around by their opponents at home and abroad, stating he has faith in his squad

Liverpool boss JĂźrgen Klopp has insisted that he is not envious of the spending habits of rival sides, stating that his club are not in “fantasia land” with their budgets.

The Reds have followed up their Champions League-winning campaign with a relatively frugal spend during the off-season, following record-breaking deals in 2018.

While several of their rivals both at home and abroad have splashed the cash since the transfer window opened, Klopp has often explained how the big-budget contracts awarded to stars such as Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson have eaten up a significant part of the fiscal pie, along with investment in their infrastructure.

Some critics have pointed to Liverpool’s lack of transfer action as signs of prospective vulnerability, but their manager has assured fans that his faith remains paramount in his squad while admitting that he is sometimes bemused by the financial outlay of other major sides.

“This year is not the end of Liverpool FC,” Klopp was quoted in The Telegraph . “Next year there will be another transfer window. This team is really good and we have invested a lot in it. Now we have to work with that.

“I can’t say anything about what other teams are doing. I don’t know how they do it. We have to pay bills. Sorry. Everybody has to pay bills; we have to pay bills.

“We invested money in this team. Now it looks like we are not. But we are not in this fantasia land where you just get whatever you want. You cannot do it constantly.

“It looks like there are four clubs in the world who can do it constantly. Madrid, Barcelona, (Man) City and PSG. Whatever they need, they do. You cannot compare that. That is the situation.

“It is not a criticism. I know how people will take it, that I am jealous or whatever. I am not at all jealous.

“There is no guarantee we won't draw with Leicester on a snowy pitch because we make five new signings. There is no guarantee.

“There will be average games – but that doesn’t mean we need different players. It only means we need a team that is ready that day. And that is what we have to do. We have to make sure.”

Of course JĂźrgen put his spin on it. You think he would have said no to a world class midfielder? Or another striker? Of course not.

Anyway, argue with someone else pls.

He isn’t saying anything that’s wrong , they built a side to win the title and it did 🤷‍♂️

That’s the biggest issue with people like you - you form the opinion in your head and it’s always around transfers and money and then whenever Klopp speaks you try and find a way to adjust it to fit your opinions

There have been countless times when you and others have come up with comments about the club etc said this and that when it’s clearly been false and it’s just a case of twisting words

The one key message that Klopp has portrayed constantly- the club works to a budget , it has too , we don’t have oil Billionaire sugar daddies holding up the club , we don’t look at ways to break ffp to allow the club to financially cheat , but he has been very clear that the club back him with the right players and he has no issues with the way the club works .
