Enterprising first half from Liverpool, they seem to be enjoying themselves in the sunshine. Gerrard has been his usual outstanding self, and I have been impressed with Voronin. He hasnt tried to hide on his debut, lookin for the ball at every oppurtunity, and I am really impressed by his strengh. He holds the ball up really well on the edge of the box, encouraging everyone to get forward and link up play. Proposed changes in second half. Caaragher, Kuyyt and Pennant are all supposed to play in the second half...........All in all a good first half.

Ray Putril scores with a well placed right footed shot after some neat keep ball by the Liverpool advanced lines. 3-0

Riise hits the woodwork after a great through ball by Voronin

Just tuned in on .tv to see that shot by Riise. Watching the half-time highlights now and the boys are playing well, impressed with the movement and quality. Stevie's shot was lovely, Veronin is as sharp as a tack and powerful with awareness too. Crouchy's goal was a beauty, set up by Riise who has time and space on the wing. Peltier's goal set up by Veronin was neat. Bring on the 2nd half.

Puterell (not sure of the spelling) has just scored Liverpools third. Not quite the impetous of the first half, but as last week Pennant looks sharp

Sissoko gave the ball away whilst Liverpool were in advanced positions, can be frusrtating, it was only a 20ft pass at most!
Great work from Kuyt on the left wing as he sends in a perfect cross but Craig Lindfield chose the wrong option, foot not head, which resulted in a shot wide.

Both Alonso then Kuyt take snap shots. Sissoko setting up Alonso who blasts wide to the right, Kuyt does a neat twist on the edge of the box but also shoots wide. Carragher also takes a pop shot but also shoots wide.
More accuracy needed with the shooting boys!

Corner on right from Pennant, finds Agger who heads goalwards. It's dealt with by the Crewe defence but only falls to Peltier who's header lands on the roof of the net.

3-0 and Voronin looks erm... rather F***ing good. Pardon my French.

If only we could play Crewe every week.

Nice stuff from Spearing too.  I really hope one of the youngsters makes the breakthrough in to at least the first 16 this season.

2nd half was a bit of a damp squib after the good start made in the first. The positives were Allonso, he was class as usual and lokks fit and keen. Pennant for the 2nd week running was quite sharp, and I liked the look of the young keeper Martins. Negative was definately Sissoko, his distribution was dire and his shootoing bloody awful, come on Momo get your act together !!!

Momo was poor last week too.  Not going to get medieval on him - it is only the second pre-season but he does appear to be starting this season like he ended the last.

He's on a long contract now and I just hope that he actually believes that he can challenge for a place.  Of the four central midfielders you would have to say he is the one with most to prove to get a first team place.

I hope he isn't going to sit on his big salary and not put the effort in.

Games in which we have a midfield advantage he just won't be used.  He is probably best suited for games when we're up against it.  My personal view is that he will be a sub and brought on if we find ourselves 'under the cosh' in games.

I am prepared to be proved wrong tho.
