Beside the fact that he would never come here, I'd say I'd actually consider it.

He's a fantastic player. Hard working, with the skill too. Yes, he's a blue and an ex-United player, but what's that got to do with anything? We've had ex-players of both clubs.

But, as I said, it'd never happen.

We don't seem to have the wealth to compete for Rooney with the other clubs, talked to a lot of Utd fans who would love to sign Torres. They don't seem to have any problem that he has played for us.

To be honest, I've never rated Rooney among the best. I don't think hes worth his salary, worth his fee, worth it period.

IF he wanted to come here to partner Torres, then yes I would welcome that fact. He is a quality player, who like Torres, is having a confidence crisis. Can't see it because of his blue connections. But remember that Fowler, Carra, McManaman, et al, were all "blues" growing up. Also, the fact is, we simply could not afford to buy him, especially as Man City are reportedly going to offer him half a million a week, and Chelsea are apparently willing to match and even exceed their offer! B ut if it wasn't down to money, and he wanted to get back at Fergie and play for us, then yes, I would welcome Rooney.

True he's ex man utd but we could do with him to partner Torres, as much as i don't like him (and hate to admit this) but he's a great player, yes he's off form at the mo but so is Torres, and if that isnt enough, the thought of seeing Fergies face everytime we play him would be the cherry on the cake.

If that f***in slag Roonie were to sign for us I would lick Osama Bin Ladens chocolate starfish after he has had a dodgy curry and ten pints of Guinness, there is just no f***in way i would welcome this granny shaggin bag of sh*t to our fantastic institution, he is just too f***in ugly anyway, not a bad player though to be fair

I suspect that your view is also shared by the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona. If Rooney thinks he will be moving to either of them he is in for a surprise. Madrid have already said no thanks and Barca are pretty cool about the whole idea too. I think he is heading for a rude awakening and we'll see a sudden change of mind about signing that contract for United. If he reallydoes force a move then Man City or Chelsea would be the most likely - only because they'll be the biggest clubs going for him. I can't see us putting in an offer - after United's handling of Heinze when he wanted to come to us, there is no way in a million years they'll allow Rooney to come!
