I don't rate Carzola any where near as much as Mata. Rather Downing. I don't rate the lad over 10m and even then i would be hesitant because he's never impressed me for club nor country.

I've watched Villarreal a couple of times and never saw anything special from him to be honest, i haven't watched his individual performance that much though really so don't know if my opinion is credible. May have just been having the odd off game when i have watched Villarreal.

Cant we stick Cazorla on the right and have Mata on the left? I'd take it to be honest.

He's comfortable on both sides of the pitch, I personally rate him highly, if we had him and Mata on the wings we would be 10x stronger than we are now

Yeh i'd be pretty happy to sign him if im honest. The two of them would pretty much sum up a great summer of business for us. If we then got a left back as well we'd be in great shape for next season.

Can't see this one going through but would be pleased if it did. Pacey, good cross and has been a big playerfor Villareal. With Rossi rumoured to be leaving then maybe he feels the club us taking wrong direction, who knows. Perhaps there maybe some truth ...

      Dalglish eyes Cazorla swoop

      13 June 2011

Kenny Dalglish could be ready to switch his wing targets to Spain international Santi Cazorla after Pepe Reina recommended him.

The Villarreal midfielder has won over 30 caps for his country and Reina has apparently told Dalglish that he would be perfect for the Reds if he could land him.

But the price may prove to be too much.

The 26-year-old has a buy out clause of £26m at Villarreal and that would probably prove to be too much for the player.

But if Dalglish could land him for around the £18 mark then a move could be back on the cards.

Liverpool were expected to move for Aston Villa's Stewart Downing but that remains in the balance and Dalglish could look elsewhere.

Not many players I'd look outside of our new "age range" scheme for but Carzorla is certainly one. The way he goes past players is breathtaking at times. Surely one of the most skilful players in the world.

If Downing is worth £20M, I'd pay €20M for Cazorla with a big smile on my face.

Have to admit i don't know too much about him but he looks quality. Two great feet and his change of pace is unreal, is he worth the risk? €20m i don't know.

Cazorla is pure class, and he would be a great addition!  That being said, I don't know how much I trust the rumors, but I would have him here in a heartbeat!

His greatest attribute IMO is his creativity and unpredictability!  He is prone to making some errant passes that go to absolutely no one, but that is because even his teammates don't know what he is going to do half the time!  He is quick, agile, has great balance, and great ball control.  He is a very good passer (makes killer passes), and even has a pretty good shot on him.  I think he would be a great addition to our team!

He is a very good player. Don't talk about him too much. Everybody knows Harry Redknapp and Fergie reads these pages.

He seems to play in CM a lot or if he is playing on the wing then he keeps cutting inside. But in saying that Mata does exactly the same so.... is this fella the alternative if we don't get Mata?

Really at a loss to understand why we would buy this lad at a similar price we would get a superior and younger player in Mata

Good to have back-up options if Mata goes to Barca.

I don't think anyone is saying that we would be better off with Cazorla instead of Mata.  I think people are simply saying that Cazorla is also a quality player and would be a good addition to the team.

We fans have no way of knowing how much either of these players will cost, or if they are even interested in coming to Liverpool.  But, we can speculate whether we think they would be a good addition, and whether they will fit in with our current crop of players.  I think Cazorla would be a great addition.

Because, he is almost as good as Mata, and is even more versatile than him ...
