The new boot room under Kenny
      Jan 08, 2011 09:52:33 pm
Thats that sorted ... with us all behind Kenny.

What ideas do we have for his backroom staff?

Sammy?  Thommo?   Rushie?   Track down Pako?

Who is here now ... that should be gone?

Who is going to be behind Kenny in the new Boot Room?

I'm sure if we wanted to go down this route we could, but I think it would have to be something done in the summer.

Say we got Villa Boas in the summer, would he want any of them?

Any staff that came in from Fulham with Hodgson should be axed now

Also Koncheskey and Poulsen should never be seen again

I thought Tommo had asked for six months break from sh*t sports news?

I'd ask for permanent leave. The last thing I would want to do is sit on a panel alongside those stand out pricks Paul Merson and Matt Le Tissier.

Thommo or Rushie for me. Hard to choose between them.

I'd go for Tommo firstly, largely because he steered the team through much of the time when GH was seriously ill.  Still room for Rushie though as a coach.

I love Thommo but not to sure if his style would be ideal to get the best out of this squad. I know I'm looking from the outside but the vast majority of our squad appear to be players who wouldn't respond to well to Phil's abrasive style and maybe Rushie would be a better option.

I may be totally wrong and would like either to be involved. Just a thought.

While I share everyone's concerns over Thommo.  He did an excellent job in Houllier's absence.

Clearly, from that, he is able to generate respect amongst players.

Mike Kelly is an imposter in the 'boot room' and I can't see it being long before he is removed.

      Kind of agree with this.

I'm sure Thommo and a few of the boys wouldn't mind another 6 month run with the club, if it was for the good of the club :)

Asked the Mike Kelly question in another thread. Hopefully he's gone soon.

In the SSN spot on KD taking over Tommo said if they asked him he could not say no to Kenny...lots of speculation about IR also...we need all the help we can get....bring them all in.

Why need to choose, just get the whole lot on board, the more the merrier. Personally, I'd prefer Tommo, he doesn't sit still throughout the game, even when we're 3 goals up he'll still be shouting from the sideline. We need to get Tommo in to wallop those overpaid players of ours. As fas as I can see, the player can blame anything from the weather to the manager that doesn't knows how to pamper them for their poor performance, but they can't fool around with Kenny, Tommo, Rushie, Aldo etc, they been there and experienced all that before.

I'd take Steve Clarke all day, Mourinho speaks very highly of him, basically gave him credit for Chavski's orginisation durin his tenure and he's also worked with Vilas Boas.

Who is to be Number 2 to Kenny
Thought I would start up this topic as the internet is on fire with rumours Steve Clarke is after being appointed to the backroom staff. Tony Barrett has all but confirmed it on BBC Five Live.

I think Steve Clarke would be a good appointment he is well respected.
