Following the psychic success of Paul the Octopus during last summer's World Cup, footy fans have turned to another eight-legged oracle for their Premier League predictions.

Liverpool and Everton fans consulted Ollie the Octopus - cousin of the original tentacled telepath - to forecast the result of this weekend's Merseyside derby.

Liverpool's Radio City 96.7 breakfast team visited Sea Life in Blackpool, where Ollie predicted a win for Kenny Dalglish's team.

Sea Life trainer Martin said: "He's done a few predictions and got them right.

"He correctly predicted the winner of the X Factor and he's been doing Blackpool games and got those right."

The creature, who was born in the same batch as the world famous Paul in Weymouth, chose Liverpool when two boxes with the clubs' crests were submerged in his tank.

Breakfast show host, Simon Ross, said: "The Octopus has spoken and it says Liverpool are going to win.

"In the trial runs, and in the event itself, Ollie went straight to the box marked Liverpool.

"I’ll bet Kenny Dalglish and the red fans are hoping Liverpool’s strikers can find the box as easily as Ollie did!"
