If you think Rafael is average, you are most definitely clueless.

Either that, or extremely biased against the Mancs which I am too.

But i dont go into threads and make no sense! If your going to bother saying something, make sense ;)

Even some of my Manc friends say Rafael is not better than Kelly at the different stages of their career.
They rate Kelly, a lot. He is not average but he was defintely not better at the same stage of his career as Kelly is in now.

With all due respect your only a bairn, Molby was the best passer of the ball I have ever seen including Alonso and I don't think any one in their right mind will not agree with me.

Agreed, Molby was an absolute hero of mine when I was growing up. He didn't need to go running around the pitch because his passing, vision and positional play were unmatched.

      Can I just say: Eeeeeeeeeeeeew!

A fine debating point for neutral fans, but as a Liverpool supporter I couldn't personally mix United players with ours, it makes me want to puke!

He has been piss poor all season. If you think I don't make sense then I suggest you re-read my posts, they make perfect sense.
Show me a better right back then Kelly in the league.

Right so the team top of the league gets no players into the team 7th?

And when your picking your greatest Liverpool team of all time, to include Molby is ridiculous!!!
Your statement about Molby just proves how wrong your opinion is.

I would never pick a team with both players in and I wouldn't have posted in this thread otherwise except for the wannabe mods invading and derailing the thread.

If a thread is agaisnt the rules, report it otherwise just leave it to the people who want to post in it? This thread is harmless. Leave the people who want to post in it to post in it and post in a thread you actually want to contribute to?

      Happy days.

Molby was a good player, not saying he wasnt.

But he does not get into the GREATEST ever Liverpool team. That is a fact!!!

And thereds13, thinks this thread is pointless, so why are you still posting and just looking for an argument?

Rafael has been class this season, to say he has been poor and an average player is just ridiculous.

And then with your childish chav calling which is the next to worst insult to being called a Manc, Bluenose.

This thread is only a bit of fun so why get all dramatic?

To people picking Kelly over Rafael.

That is ridiculous! Sorry but hes not!

Yes he is and to boot, the lad is more composed than that manc tw*t.

Check out Rafael's sending off at White Hart Lane.

Rafeal very overrated, good player sure but hasn't exactly done fantastically. Done a solid job and media just hype him.

Not a fact at all sorry, thats your opinion.

Depends what you want from your greatest Liverpool team ever, I went for a midfield hardman in Souness and a play maker who could place the ball on fly arse from a 100 yards, whats your problem with that ?

Its an opinion. i just like to use the word "fact". Nothing wrong with the opinion.

I just think most people would not pick him in the greatest ever team.

      Am I wrong?

      Am I wrong?

But you can't use an opinion as fact. And actually a lot of Liverpool fans, certainly those growing up in the mid to late 80s would have Molby in their greatest XI.

Just like most United fans would have Giggs, yet you've picked Best on the left wing? And Vidic ahead of Bruce and Pallister, you sure on that one?. Evra ahead of Dennis Irwin? Fair enough it's an opinion but most United fans (and most football fans generally) would have Bruce and/or Pallister ahead of Vidic any day, same for Irwin over Evra.

I'm not saying you're wrong or ridiculous. I'm just saying most wouldn't do that. So don't get so worked up about people putting Molby in their best XI or Kelly in their current XI. If you want this thread to be "a bit of fun" let it be so and don't go shooting down the opinion of others then get all worked up when somebody questions your opinion.

So to be honest you making that statement regarding Molby, I'd say is ridiculous.

Wholeheartedly agree, Molby is still the best passer of the ball I've ever seen.  Not many players I can think off, who could get MOTM without moving out of the centre circle.  He had vision, deftness and the passing ability to play a ball into a team mates stride.  Admittedly he had a bit of timber, but I shudder to think how good he'd have been if as  fit as some of the current crop of players.

Still dont think he is in our top two of every central midfielder that has played for the club.

Souness, Gerrard, Hughes are better for me.

I stated fact but I dont literally mean fact. Its just a word I over use.

Can see why you might include Molby but I think the 3 above are better.

Mate, don't go saying sh*t when you don't know anything about it. I'm a young fan myself, but i know that Molby was brilliant. Great players existed long before you or i were fans, and just cos you don't know anything about Molby does not mean he wasn't good. Even from the limited vision i have seen i can see he was F***ing quality.

Anyways, the mere suggestion of a combined Liverpool/Manure team makes my blood boil so im gonna back out now.

I had Gerrard on the right and Souness alongside Molby, so the only player I missed out was Emlyn Hughes, but I done so for a reason, that reason being Molby is the best passer of a ball I have ever seen, he also had a hammer of a left foot.

As a central midfielder, Jan Molby is hands down better than Emlyn Hughes. Terry Mc, Steve McMahon, Ray Kennedy now that's another matter. Surprisingly Ray Kennedy doesn't get into enough greatest XI's but was a F***ing quality player.
