If you put Gerrard,Agger and Carrol into the side it looks an awful lot stronger doesnt it.

exactly, also options, if cole and shevley were fit, it doesnt mean kenny would use them but it would give him more options, it would give a chance to drop the rubbish as well..

      Just back from the game.

We looked lethargic and tired.  Really missed Agger I felt.

Shame Meireles went off because the whole spark out of the team went with it.  Not too disheartened after our results of our late - and we did keep going until the end.

Suarez was a real plus - convinced he will do a good job for us when we get some better players around him.

Rodriguez, Kuyt and Jovanovic? All pretty poor.

Thought Johnson had another poor game, the lad has lost all his thunder when going forward and his positioning as a defender leaves much to be desired.

Carragher, put a couple of blocks in but his immediate distribution is poor - a lot of hoofball and giveaways.  Which leads me back to my point about missing Agger who is the only defender capable of bringing the ball from the back.

Lucas had a poor game today.  On the back of a fine display against Chelsea - maybe playing mid-week with 10 men took it's toll - although Wigan did close him down and he received little assistance from his other midfield partners.

All in all, a disappointing game to drop 2 points - but a couple of months back we would have lost that.

Suarez went very very close to scoring again as well - he should have taken all the free kicks.

One final thing about the ref - how the hell their captain didn't get a second yellow card I just don't know.  He also pulled Liverpool back for a free kick when Ngog had advantage.  Not a fine refereeing display.

Six matches unbeaten, and amazingly we have opened the scoring in our last 7 games now under Dalglish.

      Positive to take.

One other thing, instead of bringing on Ngog and Jovanovic, both players who will never be brilliant for LFC, it was a shame that someone exciting and creative like Pacheco wasn't handed a chance.

He was just what we needed in the final half hour today.

Heard the result when I came home from work, must admit felt disappointed after our fine win against Chelsea, feel these meaningless mid-week friendlies takes it's toll on some of our players.

We've been on a good run of late under Dalglish yet our problems weren't going to simply disappear. It's looking better all round but we are going to slip up every now and then. Thankfully it looks like it will be happening a lot less under a much more suited manager.

Gone for Meireles for man of the match. Luis Suarez looked fantastic and I think he is going to add so much to the team but Meireles edges it for me today for how much we obviously missed him when he went off. He was involved in everything, just a shame he spewed up at half time.

Thought we played some cracking footy first half, then faded badly.

Pretty sure we can put that down to the international matches midweek.

No panic, we are moving in the right direction.

Thought we were awful in the first half, the last 15 minutes of the half we couldn't get the ball off Wigan and when we did we just gave it straight back.

I disagree, when we had the ball through the first 30 minutes we were playing some excellent football. Also, when we were defending we looked solid. I agree with Kenny though we lacked an edge and I think that frustration was key to us losing control for the majority of the game after that.

Very true mate. Too many average players means too many average performances. Even the king isn't Jesus.

We need top class wide men, to easy from teams to come to Anfield and keep it tight, most of our play goes through the centre and it is easier to stop

We are brought back to earth with a bang, f**king sh*t, the centre of midfield was a massive f**king problem today. Aureilo is not a centre midfielder. Lucas, Kuyt, Aureilo and Maxi were a f**king awful today
Having just finished watching the game in Canada, i'm glad that someone else has the same point of view, but some piss poor performances from players who look mediocre at best, and a complete lack of quality from some. Makes last weeks result with all that hard work mean less after todays performance.

Didn't see the match but I'm not happy that we dropped 2 points.

Shame how we did not have Agger and Gerrard for this game.

We were missing a few key players - Stevie obviously, but Agger helps shape as well. Kuyt was poor and Jova could neither control ball or pass to a red jersey.

6 games unbeaten - under Woy we'd have lost today, Wigan had more energy.

Suarez hit bar and post, Raul is sick (not injured), Stevie is on way back and Carroll is getting closer - don't be blinded by short term we were a mess before KK.

Correct me if I'm wrong.Credit where its due hasn't appeared in any post till now.
Sure Wigan (like we were recently)languishing near the trapdoor. So as it has been since time immorial struggling teams come to Anfield and play like they're in a cup final,Wigan today imho deserved that point.
As has been said players in that starting line up today, just arn't good enough.
Pacheco!!I don't know if he's good enough, however from what I've seen of him, albeit in the ressies and Spain surely he posseses more talent/skills than three or four of the starters today.
I personally don't rate Kuyt. His one and only real talent is his unbelievable engine.Take that away and your left with a guy that cannot control a football/head a ball/shoot straight/pass consisttetly well etc etc.He along with Maxi,Jova, and Ngog would be first on the trans list in the summer.
Positives:Suarez,Stevie,Carrol to come plus some exceptional youngsters ( playing Monday night live on LFC TV by the way).

erm.... not quite. I follow the Portuguese league and guarantee it is nowhere near the PL in difficulty or defender quality. The reason he never scored so many goals in a season is because he always played as a more defensive midfielder for Porto.

The ref's haven't been very kind to us this last month.

Gave United a pen which wasn't
Had a pen denied against Blackpool
Had an onside goal disallowed against fulham
      Everton's first goal wasn't a corner
Everton's second goal was a foul on Kelly
Wigan had an offside goal given today

All these incorrect decisions has been given from matchs within a month. I know people say that the decisions level out over the season but I don't believe it, the ref's have not been kind to us in recent years.
