Totally agree mate. Hoping for at triple toe pokey just inside the post in the home game though. YNWA

Disappointing performance, with no away goal, the tie certainly not over by any means. Will have to defend well at home, a score draw will spell disaster!

No I agree with this, when Carroll is fit Maxi and Kuyt should be going to the bench, during the summer I can't see Ngog here and I agree we should also let Maxi go....Kuyt has some versatility and despite not being the most gifted player, he always gives his best so as a situational player I have no problem with him.

It's a good post FMS (the first one). I'm in the middle of a game of poker right now but I'll defo come back to it. You're right about N'Gog, he'll never make a striker while he's got a hole in his @rse.

Bored off me rocker watching that. But 0-0 away from home isn't a bad result. And they certainly look like they're there for the taking at Anfield.

Worryingly we didn't have a shot on target. But we'll sort that out hopefully. First start for Ngog for a while so maybe the benefit of the doubt should be given to him. Really needs to start muscling up though. And if anybody can explain his booking they're a better man than me.

Meireles, considering the form he's in, was F***ing shocking. Not that he did anything bad, but he must of touched the ball about 5 times in the entire match. I forgot he was playing.

Slight disappointment not to see the youngsters, with the exception of Wilson, but was possibly too important a match for us to risk them. Though I'm sure they couldn't of done worse that what was out there.

All in all, drab performance but a decent result away from home. Do them at Anfield and on we go.

You could add Maxi to that as well mate.

I'm a fan of his but he was totally anonymous tonight.

I expect it from Maxi though mate. Really don't get the hype about him. Poor man's Benayoun I'd say. But Meireles, 5 goals in 6 games, was totally not there. Might just of been one of those games for him or might just be that he was playing slightly deeper than he has been of late.

One thing we did learn tonight, although most of us know this already, is that N'Gog and Kuyt are not up to leading the line up front.

I know Dirk played wide right tonight but on recent evidence we really need Carroll fit, especially in this competition.

I've tried not to criticise David too much as he is still young and in and out of the side but tonight he was caught offside so many times it was ridiculous. No excuse for this as it's such a basic part of a forwards game and something he will have to work on.

One more thing I'd like to add, after the upped prices for the tickets. The players should be giving those fans their money back. Bad enough having to pay over the odds but to pay it to watch that performance is a kick in the teeth.

Well, yeah, I suppose; it put me in the notion for a smoke (which I had) and that was enjoyable.

A result I'd take considering the performance.

As we can see, when we've not got Steven Gerrard, Daniel Agger and even Luis Suarez, we look really average. I think the team did well defensively but it was the attacking players that disappointed.

Probably need to ship out Maxi and Kuyt for better replacements in the summer. I actually don't think N'gog is good enough but I do believe I may be harsh because it was his first start after a long time. Let's be honest, he isn't exactly young. Born in the same year as Andy Carroll and Alexandre Pato but a big contrast as footballers.

Age isn't the problem but .. how do I put this .. let's just say, if a player is like this at 22, how improved can he be at 25? I mean, look at Jack Wilshere. He is 3 years younger but has shown alot for his age. I just feel if a player is like older than 20 and hardly shows any glimpses of quality, he just won't make it.

Can we vote for no one RK!?

No seriously Sotis and Carra had decent games and Johnson was decent going forward in the second half but that was about it. I honestly can't pick one.

Christ what a boring game. N'Gog deserves to be shot for failing to control a football over and over again, Maxi is becoming the invisible man in midfield and unfortunately Meireles and Kuyt, two of our form players atm, were both absent.

Rubbish game, really was. Again we're seeing the limitations of our squad. Perhaps playing for a draw away wasn't a bad call all things considering. Should take them apart at Anfield, I was just hoping we'd have a lead to defend and be able to put out a number of youth/reserve players.

one of the most inept performances I have seen anywhere, at any level. Far to caucious but I suggest Kenny wanted to keep a clean sheet with what was close to a second string. The srvice may not have been terrific but Ngog fully justified why I would liketo see him moved on. (Again) Have to settlefor a big turnaround in the second leg. One thing is worrying me, Haven't seen Pepe with a smile on his face for a few weeks now. Although nothing much to smile about tonight. Kenny undefeated in Europe and we move on. A good rest and recovery period now before our next match with the batteries fully recharged. Will Andy Carroll be fit for the West Ham game anyone ?
