What better time to kick off our champions league campaign after our first away win of the season.

I think this will be a really good game and would like to see Rafa start Babel and Voronin upfront with Crouchy on d bench if we need him.  Also PLAY KEWELL think Im gonna set up petition for him soon wonder who'd sign?

I'd like to see Babel getting a full run out in this one on the wing with Voronin and Crouch up front.  But to be honest - why not just F**k the rotation off and play the 11 that won at Villa? They've been off all summer.

I think we'll beat them over two legs no problem. We beat PSV, Juventus, Chelsea, Barcelona all over two legs so why not Toulouse. Therefore I would rotate the team for this match and this is my team...

      GK - Pepe Reina
      LB - John Arne Riise
      CB - Daniel Agger
      CB - Jamie Carragher
      RB - Alvaro Arbeloa
      LM - Ryan Babel
      CM - Javier Mascherano
      CM - Steven Gerrard
      RM - Yossi Benayoun
      FW - Peter Crouch
      FW - Andriy Voronin

Would play Torres midway in the 2nd half along with Sissoko or Alonso.

As far as the team goes I have a feeling that Crazyhorse could be right but then again It could be the case that Stevie wants to play. I have to also add that I think the other new boys will get a run out too. Mind you it could be a bit pretentious as I know nothing what so ever about Toulouse, the only French league game I can honestly say Ive watched its entire length was Lyon against Aux the other day. Was a good game too btw.

I think we should just get it wide wide wide and Rafa should ask the wingers to get chalk on their boots as from what Ive seen of French football its a lot of pass and move up the middle. Should be an interesting one though and a weird kick off time to boot stranger things have happend at sea I suppose.

      Team:

                      Carragher
Carragher   Carragher   Ca...................... need I go on !!

I think Saturdays line up gave us an indication of who's going to play on Wednesday, I would go with Ra Ra Rafa's predicted line up with the exception of swapping Agger for Hyypia. I don't know a lot about Toulouse, but in general the pace is slower in French football & Sami should be able to cope with it, whilst Agger still looked a little rusty on Saturday, and we can't afford any slip ups in this game. I predict a comfortable win over the two legs, hopefully getting a nice score on Wednesday so we can really relax for the second leg & maybe give a few youngsters a chance.

I think it's to do with the French League having a full evening schedule & it not being allowed to clash. I've re-arranged my lunch hour anyway so I can catch the second half.

Got Setanta last week. Will be watching this on my 50" HDTV  ;) accompanied by a few beers.

Think Torres will sit this one out and start against the chavs at the weekend. Got a feeling Mascherano and Benayoun will start as they didn't travel on Saturday.

      0-2 to the mighty reds.

      Crouch and Stevie.

Not gonna be able to see any of the game, in work all day, plus only radio signal is manures century 105.4 so I will have to find another way of keeping up with the score. I feel we should win, but did they not just beat Lyon last weekend? so it may not be a forgone conclusion.

But the odds are in favor
      Toulouse  7/2
      Draw  21/10
      Liverpool  8/11

On paper this should be a pretty easy game. However they turned over Lyon at the weekend,so we cant take them lightly.I think the line up will be completely different from the weekend, with the chavski game in mind,i think we may see the likes of Sami,Crouchy,Mo,mo and Veronin get a run out.I am predicting 2-0 to the lads.Crouchy and Babel with the goals.Wilhelmsson has signed for Bolton?

      Agreed.

However they turned over Lyon at the weekend,so we cant take them lightly.

Disagree. They scored a last gasp winner against a team down to ten men for more than half of the game, after their best defender had gone off injured.

We should wallop them. No excuses. We could build every game in to a 'don't take them lightly' attitude. Save that for Chelsea at the weekend. Toulouse are not anyway near the calibre of Liverpool - never mind have the remotest European pedigree.  It pisses me off when people try to play down Liverpool all the time - so that we can all run round naked celebrating a 1-0 win.  There will be people with positive comments even if we get a draw.

The way I see it - we should play like the team who were in the Champions League final and won it two years ago - and these no-marks should be put out of the competition by the tea-time Wednesday.

I go for a 3-0 win. I think Rafa has learnt from the last few seasons, if we are to win anything we have to treat each game as a cup final whoever the opposition or kiss the prem title goodbye for another year !

Peter Crouch, Javier Mascherano and Yossi Benayoun are called to the Liverpool squad after being left out at Aston Villa.

French keeper Charles Itandje is also included but Jermaine Pennant is left out, and Harry Kewell is carrying a groin injury.

Toulouse's star striker Johan Elmander is expected to start after recovering from a leg injury.

Fode Mansare could return after missing the first two games of the season.

Well, with Mascherano travelling, I would like to see him in the middle with Gerrard tomorrow. Good balance of attack and denfensive cover in the midfield, plus Alonso looked a bit rusty on Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised if Benayoun starts either.
As long as we keep focused at the back, keep that Elmander quiet and keep a nice clean sheet, I'll be happy with a two nil win for the reds.
I wouldn't be surprised if Crouch is on the bench allowing Kuyt and Torres to get some more play together ahead of Sundays clash with Chelsea. But I do think if that's the case, that Crouch would play some part.

      I'll go for:

      Reina

      Finnan Carragher Agger Arbeloa

      Benayoun Gerrard Mascherano Riise/Babel

      Torres Kuyt/Crouch

I'll be optimistic and go way past the odds here and say 4-0 to the reds.

Think most of  the team that beat villa will be resting and i think we'll see alot of the new boys start tonight.

I say 4-0 due to the fact that everybody will be playing for a place in the hotseat against the Chavs so all will want to prove a point.

      GK:Charles Itandje
      RB:Arbeloa
      CB:Carra
      CB:Hyypia
      LB:Risse
