Pepe in with a shout for the golden glove.
      Mar 20, 2011 07:25:35 pm
After todays shut out at Sunderland, Reina is back in with a shout for the golden glove, who'd have thought we'd have said that following Roy's last game as manager ?

Good news, with the season we've had I'd love for him to be right near the top, he deserves it.

Only needs two more to catch Joe Hart and Cech as if you look at the table they havent updated it with todays games.

That's very surprising considering the first 20 league games we've gone through and especially since we had negative goal difference.

I thought he would have been way out considering our start to the season.

Considering Arsenal don't have a "first team" goalkeeper, I'd imagine Pepe would personally be above any of their ridiculously hard to spell keeper's names and Almunia (mainly because he's sh*t though).

Sunderland and Fulham have both used 2 keepers this year (although I'm not sure about the distribution of clean sheets).  I'd say Pepe would be 4th on that list.

With the mancs, has van der sar played all the league games ? I thought he missed a couple earlier.

Either way - if we can get Pepe 8 more, he should get the award

I wonder if many of the clean sheets coincide with Agger playing - I'm sure many do.  Let's hope Agger stays fit.

Not if his buy out clause is fixed at 20 million.

I've heard that his ok now, hopefully that's right.

If Agger and Carra stay fit for our run in I reckon it's Pepe's, we looked solid against Sunderland so can't see why not. Keep it up Red men!

Joke that Arsenal used 2-3-4 F***ing keepers this year,if our defence stay solid Pepe has a great chance off winning it.And then for him to come out and say he is staying.

Staying is a must. Winning the glove would be great for him,but staying would be the dogs bol**cks for us.

I think he is the best Keeper in europe at the minute.Would be heartbreaking if he was to leave. And very hard to replace.

      After today's result:

      1st - Cech (14) + has a game in hand
      2nd - Hart (14)
      Equal 3rd - Reina/Van Der Sar (12)

As of now, Pepe has 13 clean sheets in 34 matches.

Only above him are Joe Hart (14) and Cech (15). Van der Sar is tied with Pepe.

5 more clean sheets would do very nicely.

Least this proves that defensively we're as strong as United or Chelsea.
