      Players from potentially relegated teams
      Apr 21, 2011 01:31:02 am
      Easy question.
If Wolves, West Ham and Blackpool go down and are forced to balance the books, which players from those teams would you like us to go for at the potentially reduced price?

From Blackpool I would go for the much coveted Charlie Adams who surely would leave them anyway and definately at a lower cost than olly would want.
From west ham, Parker would be awesome as would Piqione and tomkins. From wolves, a return of hamill and a punt on jarvis would be great.
Course there are other teams that could dragged into the mire but going by the league tables as of 20-4-11.
Feel free to update as the tables change.
      Could be some bargains.
If wigan were to drop I would love to finally get james mcCarthy as well.

      It's Charlie Adam! :-[
      I'd love McCarthy and N'zogbia
Parker is old as is Piquionne, Adam would still be way overpriced, Jarvis and Hammill are not good enough for LFC, Don't know about Tomkins, could be a nice and young addition, but we already have 3 solid right backs and would need a better CB than this.

Charlie adam is way over priced and over rated.

Wolves: Hennessey (HG no.2 GK), Matt Jarvis/Adam Hammill (either could replace Cole as a HG option, if Cole doesn't get shafted pass on them).

West Ham: Robert Green (HG no.2 GK), Scott Parker (with so many terrible HG players in our squad wouldn't pass up on a pretty good if somewhat aging one - could see him being useful for a short period, would allow us to purge the likes of Cole, Konchesky, Darby etc.), Demba Ba (great choice for a 3rd/4th striker IMO).

Blackpool: Charlie AdamSSSSSSS, but seriously nobody.  Wouldn't even want Adam, he's too fat and unfit.

Wigan: N'Zogbia (HG), McCarthy (loan him back to Wigan IMO), Rodallega (if we fail in pursuit of Demba Ba/Kalinić)

Blackburn: Robinson (HG no.2 GK), Phil Jones (HG brilliant talent - don't think we need another defender but I'd make an exception for him, loan him back to Blackburn IMO), Kalinić (great choice as a 3rd/4th choice striker)

Jarvis, Rodallega, N'Zogbia and Ba. Those are the four I'd look at.

Love Parker as a player but he's too old now and won't be bought by us under NESV.

      Wolves: Hennessey (HG no.2 GK),
We already have a good HG no.2 in Gulcasi.

The highest level he's been tested at is League One, do you think that makes him ready to make the step up to Premier League or even European action   He needs game time at a competitive level to improve, he won't get that sitting on the bench.

And why would Hennessey come and sit on our bench?

      West Ham -

Parker - Brilliant player, great passer, tough tackler and has great leadership skills. He is 31 which is simply to old so no chance IMO.

Ba - Great player and would an excellent squad player although I would not sign him. Simply because of his injury problems.

      Wigan

N'zogbia - Great ability, can dribble (highest dribble out of anyone in the league), can cross and more important he can score. He does have attitude problems but he would be a great buy IMO.

Rodallega - I like this guy. Has pace, good positioning skills and can finish. His link up play isn't brilliant but he can get a few goals. Would be a very good bench/back up option to Carroll or Suarez

      Wolves

Jarvis - He's been mentioned a few times on here, would be an excellent player to have in our squad. He's got the most crosses in this season and the crosses have been of good quality. Although he is very one dimensional, does the same type of cross over and over again. Would be player that I'd like to see in red next season

Doyle - A player who I like, has Kuyt-esque work rate and is a decent finisher. Would have Rodallega over him but both would be welcome back up to our strike force.

      Blackpool

Adam - He was brilliant earlier in the season with some fantastic passes. He has been poor recently and does have fitness problems. I'm not sure I want him, I did a few weeks ago but I'm starting to change my mind. Until he can prove his fitness, I'll question if he can play for us.

I would go for Chris Samba if Blackburn go down - everytime I have seen him play - admittedly only on TV - he looks decent.

I would get Salgado on a 1 or 2 year deal as back up - still a good player and has enough pace still to compete.

Nzogbia and Rodallega. Maybe the other Irish/Scottish lad at Wigan, think it is McCarthy?

Charlie Adam, James McCarthy, N'Zogbia, Hugo Rodallega. Would all be great squad options IMO.

From other leagues, there's Wolfsburg fighting against relegation in Germany, with players such as Diego and Kjaer who could be considered, maybe?

I like N'Zogbia most of the EPL players.

Always liked Kjaer when playing for Denmark, but haven't seen much of him at Wolfsburg.

Diego, do you by any chance know Salomon Rondon from Malaga? They might relegate aswell. Thought he might make an interesting young backup forward. But I haven't seen enough of him to be sure.

We were looking at him up in Scotland, before he chose to move to Wigan.

What I've seen of him, still think he'd be a decent buy.

Agreed. You see I'm not a normal person as I used to download the SPL highlights show, so I remember when McCarthy's club at the time, Hamilton Academical, were promoted to the SPL and he was very impressive there. Didn't know he was on our radar back then, but I do think he's a quality young player.

Always liked Kjaer when playing for Denmark, but haven't seen much of him at Wolfsburg.
Same for me, when I had the chance to see his partnership with Agger for Denmark I thought they were really good, but then again I can't say I've seen him in a regular basis... but if Wolfsburg do go down, he's a name we should at least think about.

Diego, do you by any chance know Salomon Rondon from Malaga? They might relegate aswell. Thought he might make an interesting young backup forward. But I haven't seen enough of him to be sure.
No mate, never saw him play, but I did listen about him some time ago, maybe even in this forum? Not sure, but it sounds good to have a young backup who would not cost much but could possibly turn into a handy player
