Finding it hilarious that some people are still moaning about the price.

Here's something for you to moan about.  Our brilliant 'free transfer' - Joe Cole - 4 year contract - £5M signing on fee + 4 years of £5M per annum wages.

      £25M.

Moan about that you bunch of misery arses.

That makes me want to shoot myself every time I see those numbers..... :f_wah:

Nobody moaned about the price since you last visited this thread. Quite the opposite, all posts seem to agree with you, dont know where you see the moaning. Btw., whats the problem with Joe Cole? I thought it didnt matter what we paid for players... ;D

I think the actual price we got Henderson for is 16 million not the 20 being reported.??

Agreed. It is the wage bill we need to keep down. Was looking at teletext and Man U paid out something like 46m on wages last year and won the prem and got to the cl final. Chelsea spent 174m and won F*ck all. It's gotta be the way to go to unable us to build financially.

46m? was on Sky Sports before, United spent £132m on wages, City £133m.

There is no way Utd spent only 46m on wages. Rooney earns a quater of that.

Anyway on topic, welcome to Anfield jordan.

I do rate this lad and feel he has the potential to be a good player in seasons to come but im not afraid to admit i think we have paid more than what we should have for him. Just because we have so much amount of money doesnt mean we should pay more than what a player is worth. We all bang on about the liverpool way but if we did that with every player then we would be no different then the likes of city or chelsea.

Im a little concerned where he fits into the side as well. You cant leave a 16m signing on the bench so I cant work it out who will be dropped or what system KK will play next season. Its an interesting one.

However this summer is set to be an extremely exciting one when we are forking out that sort of money on jordan henderson. He is certainly not going to be a player we would spend all of our transfer kitty on, nor will he be our major signing, meaning there will definately be 4 or 5 players to follow for similar/bigger fees.

What apart from his standing around trying to catch his breath and thats before he has broken into a sprint.

We paid F**k-all for Cole, but his wages and signing-on fee certainly took the piss

I think we should use Jova as leverage for Mata and Cole as leverage for Downing.

Jordan Henderson insists he still has plenty of improving to do, despite winning a move to Liverpool.

The young Sunderland midfielder has agreed a reported £20million switch to Anfield and is thought to have undergone a medical at the Merseyside club on Wednesday.

But the 20-year-old, capped once for the senior England team, is adamant he still has it all to do.

Asked when he first realised he was good enough to make it as a professional footballer, Henderson told the Daily Mirror: "Make it? I still don't believe I have made it.

"As a young footballer, if you think you have made it you are on a downward slope.

"I don't think I can ever feel I've made it. I have a lot of things to achieve and a lot to do and football is a short career."

He added: "I know I can improve and learn a lot. I have to. I need to score more goals, get into attacking positions and finish."

Henderson, who has played a key role for the Black Cats over the last two seasons, admits he is fulfilling his boyhood dream playing in the Premier League and for his country.

He said: "When I was young, football was all I wanted to do.

"Everyone said. 'Get a fall-back', but I only had football on my mind. I was confident I could achieve that.

"Now I always remind myself of what it was like being a kid and pulling on a replica strip and playing.

"I am doing it for real now and it is a dream to play for your country or your club. When I get picked for any side, I just remember what an honour it is - and how from the age of six it is what I've practiced and trained to do."

Very mature for his age. Wants to learn. Let the King teach you!

At a guess, i would say that it will be after Euro U-21's as the transfer window opens July 1st i believe.
