I thought he was one of our brighter players in fairness. He seemed to find the ability to pass forward again. I've been very harsh on Hendo lately, much of it his AWOL like performances, but if Rodgers can just keep him in the middle he should be fine. Anywhere else and he's useless.

Yup in my opinion he was poor compared to his performance v Swansea. Couldn't dictate the play had poor ball control (pitch played a part) and was caught out a couple of times defensively.

One of our highest attacking output players this season. Low bar I know, but 5 assists and 2 goals is nae horrible (plus another goal in the champions league).

Henderson was very good today. Superb cross.

More of today's type of performances Hendo...and there'll be no problems with you leading the team.

I know he played brilliantly yesterday but I'm to comment on his leadership. I enjoyed seeing him giving advice and words of wisdom to his colleagues but he gave his view to the referee too. And that was only what I saw from the television. Well done

Have always said he is in Stevie's shadow. Unfortunately it takes for Gerrard to be out of the team to see Henderson's best play. He really steps up to the plate, and you can see he's being played out of position when you compare his performances when Gerrard is in and out of the team.

The lad is only 24 too, so he's plenty of time ahead of him. MOTM performance yesterday for me.

Some parallels with BR and Jordan, difficult start to the season, but getting things back on track. But by many accounts he was MOTM yesterday. Imo he's actually been one of the more 'effective' performers so far this season - just based on assists - even though played out of position for much of it. Moved into the middle, he's more comfortable, and the responsibility of captain seems to bring more out of him, rather than make him retreat, which is a good sign. Still only 24, plenty to come from him - but whether he can nail down a starting CM place for years to come remains to be seen - SGs boots will be hard for anyone to fill. But the lad is not a shirker, he works hard, and he HAS ability, particularly going forward, has an eye for a pass and a goal. With SG moving on, am sure BR (who obviously rates him highly) will give him his chance to become a fixture ...

I certainly wouldn't. Henderson is super fit and he's built himself up like Bale or Ronaldo lately. He's our fittest player perhaps - he played largely 90 minutes throughout last season on the majority of matches (apart from his ban after City). Henderson could floor Costa with a brush on the shoulder.

It's nice to see that passion from Henderson, and lately he's been very aggressive and vocal on the field, acting like the captain he will be.
